ok i use freetar to do the fretting of my songs. is there any way to bring out the noise of the instrument i am trying to fret. like the guitar could i make it louder or make the drums and vocals quieter so i can here the guitar better.

You can if you have an audio editor and your REALLY good with it.. To bring out ( make louder/quieter) only certain parts of the song You will need to isolate the frequencies that the particular sound is in ( vocals) are usually quite a high frequency, ( bass ) is usually a very low frequency. Bearing in mind if you do any of this, you will want to make a copy of the audio first.. You dont want to go messing with the original coz obviously that will be heard when playing the song in FOF as it will sound very strange if only the guitar or vocals etc are the only thing heard

This will be especially difficult with any song that has distorted guitar. After all, a square waveform takes a huge spectrum and is almost indiscernible from the rest of the mix.
