When I try to play songs >30 minutes, PS crashes

I'm trying to play Cassandra Gemini by The Mars Volta, but whenever I click on it, it says that it is updating the song information, and waits for a few minutes, then crashes. How do I get around this? Is this lazy programming, or is it my fault?

I have this with someone's chart of the Twelve-Step-Suite by Dream Theater. That one's almost an hour, I think.
I think it's just a problem Phase Shift has with long songs. This should probably be mentioned to the PS developers.

I'm pretty sure the issue is with the MIDI size, not the length of the song. I've played several 45 minute-to-hour long songs, and they've been fine, but they were Expert Guitar only in most cases, and didn't have massive MIDI sizes.

I tried opening up the file in EOF, and it shrunk from 1.02 MB to ~490 KB. I got past the Updating Song screen, but when the song was loading, phase shift crashed. I guess this is a step in the right direction?

I had this same problem with Cassandra Gemini, but I didn't have it with AlexTaylor's "Colors" chart. Weird.
