Songs and Stages
Hello guys I'm new here and I have a question, How do I determine a stage for a song?
Re: Songs and Stages
@NBSRDan
I copy the image in Frets on Fire\data\themes\Guitar Hero III\stages\stage23.png
And paste in Frets on Fire\data\songs\Black Sabbath - Into the Void
I tried but it did not work, can you explain in more detail for me? Thanks!

Re: Songs and Stages
It's been so long since I've poured through the menu structure, but I believe there may be an option in the settings somewhere as well.
Don't quote me on that, though.

Re: Songs and Stages
@Lys, I think there is an option in the settings.
@OP, try looking somewhere in the stages settings.

Re: Songs and Stages
stage.png, not stage23.png.
You also need to make sure that Options > Display Settings > Stages Options > Song Stage: is set to <On>
You also need to make sure that Options > Display Settings > Stages Options > Song Stage: is set to <On>

That's what I was thinking of. Good catch.

Oh really? I've only seen it named "background.png", I guess you learn something new everyday :).
Re: Songs and Stages
OK guy I got it, one more question! There is some way to put an animated background for each song? The little I've read, I did not find anything like that!
Re: Songs and Stages
I think support for full video is still in development, planned for FoFiX 4.0.
For now, the only way to get an animated background is to put a sequence of PNG files in the song folder. I'm not sure what you're supposed to name them; probably stage1.png, stage2.png, etc.

Unless you have r2038. Then you can install GStreamer and stuff. It should work.

It's not exactly the most user friendly thing in the world, either. Since, you know, it's a development version.
And let's not forget, Slashfan, people should not use development versions just to play with new features. They should use them in order to test and break the game, so that new versions may be released, and with better stability.
*sigh*
