I've downloaded the new version, 1.2.512, after playing with 451 for a while without problems. However, 512 hasn't worked yet so far, and always crashes at the same point.

After starting the song (say for instance the included bangbang), and setting the difficulty, the display is set up. So far, so good. FoF then displays Get Ready to Rock, and should begin to count down from 5 to 1 and start the song. Should, but it doesn't. The count down isn't started, and the game crashes. This happens every time.

Unfortunately, there's no error log. Instead I get a window with an error message. I hope somebody knows what it means.

MemoryError

OK

This looks like a memory error, but that seems unlikely as this computer has 2 GB RAM installed. Before I start FoF, according to Task Manager (PF Usage) the computer uses about 500 MB. After starting FoF, it uses about 500 MB, so at that moment 1 GB is in use. That would seem to indicate there's still 1 GB RAM free. In contrast, 451 uses about 50 MB. Most of this time CPU Usage is at 100% in both versions.

Computer: 3500+ AMD 64, 2 GB DDR RAM, MSI Radeon HD 2600 XT with 512 MB GDDR3 and Catalyst 7.10 (the latest), USB game controller, and 200 GB free on the SATA disk FoF is installed on.

Update your drivers? I'm not sure since the newest verison of FoF uses some new python scripting.

Anyone else find it odd that it seems like these python paths are hard-coded into the game?

Looks like a code bug in 1.2.512.

RF was right about OpenGL 3.0a's instability...

All I can honestly suggest is that you go back to using 451, which is a lot more stable, judging from the amount of times people've complained about this error in 512.
