Don't have the proper drivers installed?

Try reinstalling them, just for the heck of it.

Your screwed then Lol. it would be either down to your drivers or down to the guitar. And XP SP2 is what i have, and it works fine, so it wouldnt be that .

Hm, I don't have that peripheral, but I get that error with other pieces of hardware. When it's plugged in try this: start, right-click my computer click 'manage', then under system tools click 'device manager'. see if you can find it there and click 'uninstall' (at the top). Then unplug the guitar, and plug it in again.

Edited: Stupid grammar!

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/download.mspx

type in wired controller on the top right box and fill in the rest then it will be recognized on FoF then you have to go to note change and press the buttons in.

easiest and quickest.
