Re: how do you run the new version of fofix on linux
I don't remember ever hearing about them distributing Linux binaries. You should probably start with these, but I can't vouch for them, as I haven't tried to get FoFiX to work in Linux:

Re: how do you run the new version of fofix on linux
those links didn't help at all
the one that is at the frets on fire wiki had instructions on how to run and install the old version
and the google code one said to execute the command
#python FoFiX.py
nothing happens except for an error asking for a modules of some kind (something needs to go after or before the FoFiX part thats what i think)
is ther anyone here that has ever successfully ran the new version of fofix for gnu/linux

First, confirm for us that you know how to build FoFiX from source. If you haven't done that, then you won't be able to play FoFiX, because they only distribute the source as far as I am aware.

Re: how do you run the new version of fofix on linux
i know how to run it from source, but earlier versions of fofix
in the older ones i guess in 3.100 theres a a file in the root directory called fretsonfire, its a command kinda like how you run the configure script when compiling from source ./configure i run it either by double clicking and telling it to run in terminal, right clicking and tell it to open with a custom command that being "sh" or i navigate to the directory from a terminal and run ./fretsonfire and it comes up but i looked at the newer version and there is no fretsonfire file in the root directory so i am confused here, is there like a python executable file in there now, i don't know how to run those i needs some help here

the instructions in this link show you how to run the older version of fofix which is completely different now apparently all of the files that i used to run it with that i mentions in my last post aren't there just a bunch of .py files and i have no idea on how these work, before anyone tells e i have read the readme file and the files in the docs directory and they are no help at all

Re: how do you run the new version of fofix on linux
the link says to navigate to the directory and go into the src directory and execute
$python FoFiX.py
nothing happens except for the terminal saying that the command wasn't found or something like that
