Which Guitar ???
Hi all noob here...Been creepin' around for a while though....OK here's the deal...Im wanting to load a guitar to play FOF...I'm looking to load all my emulators on one computer and run them out to my TV.....I own a Wii guitar and a Wiimote...I wasted an entire weekend trying the bluetooth dongle and glovePIE thing and its just not working out for me...Every time I pair the wiimote with the computer and load GlovePIE and try FOF or FoFIX nothing happens...Then I look at my bluetooth devices and bingo its no longer recognized by the compuetr and I cant "re-pair" the wiimote without un-installing the dongle and starting all over again just to have the same thing happen time after time...I even did tried Blusoliel drivers and nothing....Luckily I only wasted $7 one the bluetooth dongle....By the way I'm running Vista 32 bit...So my question is does anybody have firsthand knowledge of exactly which guitar and dongle/reciever I need to buy that will work with Vista 32 bit and load immediately with FOF so I can finally jam instead of pulling my hair out ? I know theres a controller section on the front page but I just dont want to spend any money if its not going to work...I'm affraid its a Vista thing....I'm not a programmer so I'm really looking at true "plug and play" if there is such a thing....Thanks for any help, I really need and appreciate it...

Re: Which Guitar ???
Hi there. Altho im not a wii expert by any stretch of the imagination id say it sounds like there is a loss of communication between the dongle and the wiimote.
I know somebody else was having issues with wiimotes and one of the replies said something about the pc ( or possibly the glovepie script ) needs to send a command to the wiimote to tell it to stay awake ( i think it was a POKE command ) so you could try having a look through your glovepie script for that perhaps ...
No its probably not a vista thing as plenty of users of fof use vista ( myself included, while i still played) and im sure your not the only one that used a wii guitar with vista.
As far as im aware most generic bluetooth dongles will work just fine between a pc and a wii controller, altho there are few that have been reported to not work properly ( unfortunately i cant recall which ones, sorry )
And finally lol if you want true plug n play then get a wired Xbox360 guitar the white Xplorer ( also the same one that came with GH3PC i believe ). if you have vista installed you already have the drivers so it would be a case of just plug in and it will detect, and if you dont have the drivers as soon as you plug it in , it usually knows exactly where to get them for you ( the microsoft website ) but as far as i know the wired xbox guitars are the only true plug n play guitars...
But yeah in relation to your problem id say its probably either an issue with the scripts you use to make the pc talk to the wiimote or its the bluetooth dongle not working properly... Sorry.
If anyone can shed some more light on this that would be great ( as i said im not wiimote expert )

Re: Which Guitar ???
Thats a very good point about the script not talking to the Wiimote....After reading your reply I do remember no lights on the wiimote turning on after GlovePie kicks in....I will have to check into that "poke" deal in the script..I dont know what to look for even if I do look at it though....I've tried using the scripts that they suggest on the page telling what controllers work with FOF in the Wii section....But I guess I may have spent some money too fast because I "ebayed" myself a brand new Xbox360 "wired" Gibson style guitar today...Got a good deal at $23.00 including shipping....Thanks for the suggestions though...I hope to see some more from anybody that might be able to point me in a direction.....
Thanks again
