Hello people,
first I have to say I LOVE Fofix! But, I have serious issues since I play with it.
I tried it on 5 PC's so far, and they all have serious Hickups, wich makes the game still playable, but alot less fun! Especially in 2-Playermode. Since I never experienced the game differently, I wonder if there are people out there who managed to run the game as smoothly as original GH?
My Desktop is a quite decent machine, which can run Farcry2 and Crysis pretty smooth. It still stutters.
If yes please tell me:
Soundcard Used?
Controllers used?
Windows Version?
Soundcard Used?
CPU?
RAM?
etc...
Thanks for any input
Chobby Gameplay the 100th..is there ANYBODY with no Hickups?

The game runs flawlessly here at 100-200 fps but I have to keep it limited due to the rock meter fail glitch.

Re: Chobby Gameplay the 100th..is there ANYBODY with no Hickups?
Lots of people can play the game without it being " chobby " LOL the word is " CHOPPY "
Oh and being able to play crisis and farcry without lagg doesnt mean very much when it comes to being able to play this game. we have seen people with awesome Pc's play this and have it lagg like crazy and other people with fairly old pc's and it plays great. it seems to differ from pc to pc having a top line pc or stone age pc doesnt seem to factor into it much.
Although i dont play fof anymore ( haven't for over a year now ) when i did it played lag free. my pc specs at the time were a little lower than i have now, i think it was something like....
On board sound. realtek HD audio
OS. vista ultimate 32bit
GFX. Nvidia 7600 with 512mb
CPU, Pentium D 2.8gh dual core
Ram, unknown make, but i had 512mb
Controllers used, Keyboard to start, then a PS SG guitar, then an Xplorer and finally my custom built BC rich BEAST guitar controller.
Oh and just a tip. You do NOT need to try and make the game run at speeds like 100fps or even 60fps. THE MOST IMPORTANT thing about running games isnt how fast it runs its how smooth it runs, you only notice stutters and laggs when the fps changes from say 65fps to 62 then back again ( coz something graphical came on screen ) if you can keep a game running at a constant frame rate then you can quite happily play games at 30-35 fps and they wont look stuttery. bearing in mind video ( on tv, dvd's and even blueray) is displayed at 25fps ( in england ) and only 30fps ( in america ) coz thats all your eyes/brain can see/process at any given time, so having things run much more than that is kinda pointless coz your eyes wont see the difference.
And remember, if you can make a game run at 60fps but occasionally it will stutter coz its reached its gfx peak, running the same game and limiting at say 40fps probably wont ever lagg or stutter, coz the power it was using to reach 60fps is now spare power and available to make sure the 40fps doesnt stutter.
If you think the game should be working better than it is there are several things you can do to try and improve performance. Firstly and MOST important, lower your gfx settings for the game, the biggest culprits are screen resolution and AA ( anti aliasing ) settings, you can easily lose 20,30 even 40 fps by turning your AA settings up from AAx0 to AAx2 or AAx4, so keep your AA settings as low as possible, you could probably turn it off completly to AAx0 unless your using a fairly large monitor, you wont really see the benefits of AA anyway. Other things like the glowing effects can also cause slowdown, basically anything that a visual effect will use up GFX power lowering your frame rate and contributing to lagg. dont forget your PC basics.. Turn off any unneeded programs that you may have running in the background, like IM's, downloader apps, web browsers all those sorts of things are using up small amounts of pc power. but your biggest help will be lowering GFX settings for the game..

My fof is a bit weird it looks choppy every 5-10 seconds but my fps doesnt go below 50 ever. When i play GHWT after FoF im just amazed by how smooth GH is.

He means he has integrated sound, not a physical card.
