Keyboard Wars-TAKING ENTRIES-ROUND 1 STARTS TODAY

Yeah it may be a little late for this month but who cares? This is going to be similar to the regular contests, but instead you will be using a keyboard!


Basically, you tell us what songs you want to play. I will only be accepting 5, and then you guys will vote on them. Which ever win at the end of the day will be the song played that week. There will be 3 rounds, Semi-Finals, and then the finals. Then we will crown the winner with this months best keyboard shredder title.


I will be accepting songs that you fret, as long as you PM them to me. I will not be taking songs posted in this thread. I will also allow you to vote on songs from GH/RB as long as I have them (don't worry I have most). If you don't have a song that i say we are useing for a certain round, don't worry, just ask me and I'll upload.

Up to 20 people will be allowed in, and the top 12 will make it to the next round, then the top 7, the top 5, then the top 3 and then finally the top 2.

If you want to enter, either PM me or post a reply in this thread.

To make sure you are playing witha keyboard, I require a screenshot of your controls. It's not fun when someone cheats.

You will get graded based on this:


Highest Score: 25 PTS
2nd Highest Score: 10 PTS
3rd Highest Score: 5 PTS
Stars: 5 gold stars = 15 PTS, 5 stars = 10PTS, 4 stars = 7 PTS, and 3 stars = 3 PTS

You can use RF-MOD HO/PO's or GH2 HO/PO's
Your HO/PO frequency must be set to LESS.

This is stupid with no real way to regulate cheaters. A screenshot proves nothing. I could easily just change my controls back from keyboard to controller if I wished.

completely defeat the purpose. You want to do something that is supposedly harder (to you at least) so you make it much easier. Wouldn't it be much more interesting with some difficulty?

Well enter. The songs change every week so if you enter, round one will be the highest voted song this week, the round 2 will be a set of new songs. You requested one, therefore I need a chart of it and I will add it to the polls for election in next weeks round.

Yeah, playing on keyboard is very easy. I play the game using keyboard(guitar controller sucks). And I think you should never forget Elodius.

And how should you know if they're playing using keyboard or not? Screenshot doesn't prove everything. If possible, videos, but no FRAPS or something else of the sort. Go for real camera.

I did read it. I read it all, but the fact that that song is up there at all makes me realize that you don't know what you're doing and that this is destined to fail. You should pick songs that are very difficult, yet have been FC'd, like Burnt Ice or Concerto. Difficult songs that are FCable but are still a pain in the ass on strict, that's when keyboard becomes difficult. Sweeping on a a guitar is easy as hell, but on a keyboard, you can't just slide across the buttons. That will make this a real competition.
