T3HM3T4L:I've tried to sign up for Rock Band but they just won't allow me. They keep complaining I have to 'be over 18' while I've already been 18 for over half a year, and a sign up where I noted I was born in the '50s STILL GAVE ME THAT MESSAGE

So if anyone could help me get these templates, I'd very much appreciate it. I need it to edit notes and stuff for my Rock Band 2.

aander91:Sorry, but that'd be providing for minors, which is illegal.

T3HM3T4L:But I'm 18 years old... ?

aander91:Nope. Sorry.

T3HM3T4L:Nono, you're getting me wrong, I was asking how come I am still considered a minor?

aander91:Look, we can't just go out giving these things away to people who just say they're over 18 and show no proof, we'd be out of a job.

T3HM3T4L:Nevermind, I'll use EoF for it, I found the way I could use it for that.

and this is why GH is dying. they can't maintain the same level of quality as the old games. they add features, but none of them really add to the game, but rather distract from the fact that the games are lower quality as a whole.

look at sonic or tony hawk. that's what GH is turning into. There still is some bizarre die hard fanbase (less so for Tony Hawk) but as the games just get worse and worse, less and less people play them.

which is what GH will have to do (and what it's not REALLY doing).

I mean the whole basis of GH is simple, play some fun guitar songs on some silly stages with some silly characters. Now it's some kind of ridiculous beast that's trying to be everthing.

I think what kept people playing GH was for one, difficult unlockables, two, difficult songs, three, a tight hitwindow that made the hard songs legitimately more difficult. The reason it was so fun to pull off the solos in that game was because it was so difficult to do with that hitwindow.

Now, with GH3 it was kinda fun to feel like you're good at the game with the huge hitwindow but I think that's wearing off and people have really begun figuring out that these games are ridiculously easy with this hitwindow and silly new features etc.

I can't think of any reason why we wouldn't be able to update EOF to allow people to chart pro-mode, but at the very least, we'll need to await documentation from Harmonix (assuming they let RBN have pro mode tracks) or analysis of on-disc or DLC MIDIs. That said, I find it more likely that other clones will get pro-mode implemented before FoFiX, which still has plenty of other things to iron out.

it's possible, but there is so much required to use pro mode in every aspect that I doubt it'll be worth the time to code it.

could be though I dunno. I think if you're using pro mode you'll want to chart using FL studio or a real midi editor though

You know how many people I've heard say GH2 was the best one yet? I know they won't do it but if they want a fan base back...Not saying that its declinded HUGEly but you get my point. Most people who still play the game play guitar because they don't have the money to go out and buy the other instruments, or can't afford to. I'll be honest, GH3 overcharts made me better. I played GHM and I thought it was easy as hell, even though I like the wide hit window. Then I played RB and was like holy cow this is and easy song but I'm missing notes because of the hit window. That made me even better. To be honest, I play both games about the same.

Huh

I get quoted as a GH fanboy and i dont even see the point to this post. Most people play the GH games cause they are part of its ORIGINAL fan base. Why do you think the Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong games survived, it is because of thier original fan base.

I don't really think this is right at ALL. I think most of the original fan base has switched over to RB, especially since the ORIGINAL fan base would be loyal to the ORIGINAL developer.

No, I think they would stick with the original game. The majority of people who play these games are casual players who aren't too into gaming, and have no Idea about how HMX started GH.

Anyways, I can't choose 1 series. I think Rock Band drums are great, but their Guitar and Bass are a bit meh, while I think GH's drums suck but their Guitar/bass is great. I don't play vox at all, so I've got no clue on that. As far as PRO Mode goes, Drums are the only one I'll be playing. The RB Fender Squire pro guitar is 150, but you can actually buy a REAL Fender Squire for the same price, maybe even less (got one brand new from Guitar Center with an amp and gig bag for $125).

The price of these peripherals have gone up so much over the years that I'm starting to move away from these games slowly. The most I've ever bought for RB was the ION drum rocker, but that was also because I bought an extra kit (which actually cost me less than half of what the **** drum rocker did) that included parts to turn it into a real E-kit.

To be honest I don't think most people care about the quality of GH games, just the fact that there is a new one to buy every 2 weeks.

Though Harmonix was the "developer" of GH1 it wasn't their idea to do it, it was RedOctane who had them rip off Guitar Freaks! for them. Given that fact, I imagine RedOctane had input on how everything was done. Therefore, didn't GH technically stay with it's original "creator"?

but redoctane didn't do ANY developing so really they had no input and they still don't. all they've ever had was the general concept and they did some publishing. I mean before guitar hero they only had done one game and that game was a poorly selling DDR ripoff, and even that game wasn't actually deved by them, so there's really no way they could have known what to do

every other counter point to gilliam I have besides maybe some very specific few has already been made
