Don't know, but can I get homebrew and this game on the slim, and if so how. Also, does this have anything to do with Gutiar Star also known as Guitar Zer and Frontman, or is it unrelated.

To run homebrews on a PSP you usually need a Pandora's battery and a Magic Stick to downgrade your PSP's firmware to a level that can support homebrews.

Usually 1.0 or 1.5, following that, you need to get custom firm ware to run regular PSP games on the hacked system.

This is all I know, might be a bit off though.

Actually that's just about right, now they have a downgrader (forgot what it was called) that you can download, and tons of custom firmware HERE
That guy is the best (and maybe only?) PSP custom firmware developer I know of... I used his stuff when I had a PSP (That was a long time ago though.)

I planned on downgrading my psp, but I really didn't feel like *buying the pandora's battery pack. That and there's always a risk of bricking your system doing that...

* didn't feel like buying actually means lack of funding...

More GuitarStar discussion

Postby brk3 » Wed Jan 28, 2009 8:40 pm

Hi all,

After searching the forums, it seems there is only one or 2 short threads on the new Playstation Portable port called Guitar Star.
I have been downloading a couple of songs marked as easy or even SuperEasy, but they are still incredibly hard to play using the psp buttons!

Any suggestions of songs that are really for beginners?

Guitar Star sucks. It's a rip off of Frets On Fire, and please, don't ever post things unrelated to Frets On Fire in General FOF Discussions forum anymore. Please.

If you're not pleased with the choice of forum to post on just hit the report button. I've never heard of Guitar Star myself.

In any case this is about FoF songs. so it's still on topic somewhat. As for easy songs. go for songs from GH or rb, they have all difficulties and are very easy. if they're to hard, I can't more than tell you to practice since any easier than that is just ridiculous.

GuitarStar is like this:

Code: Select all

- Use vanilla FOF core
- Just modified the POV
- Just a new theme
- Use Jurgen tutorial and cheat

Maybe that's it. I've played it. And so bad, I don't like it.

ok this is kinda getting off topic dont yall think ok to add music to the game download a song for frets on fire off of here somewhere; this will help you find them http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/custom-songs and put it in the music folder in the GS (it stands for Guitar Star) directory

About downgrading PSPs it's actually quite simple and you can mod your own battery to work as a pandora; I'd be willing to help anyone attempting to do such a mod, and provide assitance step-by-step if needed Contact Me by any of the methods on the right --->

The only thing it has in common is the fact it's a guitar game and can use FOF files.
This is related to FOF. Just wanted to clear that up.

Yep, it supports FoF songs.

Too bad everyone frets in Expert that is nearly impossible on a handheld. >.>
