Re: Strings on Speed
If Strings on Speed supports connecting to a server by DNS name, people that routinely host games can get a DynDNS account (free). Then instead of having people use your public IP address (which changes), they can use a named address that stays the same.

It would be more useful with a "Private server" option. Clients don't even need to know the IP as there's currently no way to hide it from the list anyway so when a server is up it is always available and easy to find, no matter if the server ip changed, hence the:
To make it easier for your friend to find your server, it's better to give your server a significant name than setting up a static ip.
If the client could connect using something like a dyndns host (and currently the 15 characters limit in the address field is quite short for such hostnames), when you create a server the master server doesn't resolve this host so it will list your IP anyway.
It's very easy to find game servers

Re: Strings on Speed
Even if the IP address was hidden in the game, users are a netstat command away from getting the IP address they're connected to.
Re: Strings on Speed
Someone wanna play one time with me. I would suggest Foo Fighters - Everlong.

Notes and keys are 3D models, you can create new models with any 3D content creation software like Blender. The notes models are note.dae for standard notes and hopo.dae for hopo/tappable notes. Keys use the key.dae model. All modifications files go in your data folder. Maybe one day all of the 3D notes and keys made for FoF will work with SoS but that's not currently the case. You can find some notes and keys that work by downloading mods in the first post, this post also contains links to working keys and notes: viewtopic.php?p=258338#p258338 .
If you try Blender, make sure that you edit your meshes in Edit mode and not Object mode so your models are compliant with the current SoS code.

Re: Strings on Speed
It looks like there is a problem with the strum bar on guitar controllers. The problem is that I don't have a guitar controller myself, so I was never able to test it myself.
I'll try to fix that before the next release.

That forum looks pretty dead to me. Not even the guy who created it is using it anymore.
Re: Strings on Speed
i was just wondering... do you have an estimation on when you are going to get the next release on?
