Did you even bother to read the rest of the thread? Those comments were all references to things said prior to that comment in this thread, so it's interesting that you're so very sure that nobody has ever said them in their life, lol. It is possibly you're just uninformed?

I hardly know what to say about most of your comments honestly.... you imply that loading one additional audio track is going to be an immense strain on the system, that no Beatles song has two chartable guitar parts in it, and that the 360 mics don't work satisfactorily on RB2 (they're not great quality, but they work fine for lower diff vocals)..... i really don't think i have to detail responses to those things for them to look like rather questionable conclusions.

I hope you realize that basically every beatles song was recorded on a 4 track, and when they were isolated for LOVE, most of the guitars were just kept to one track when isolated. In other words, they'd have to do another isolation, which would take ages since you're trying to isolated one guitar from another when they sound near the same.

Then you look at what you said here, I'll "re-explain" aduro's point

You can say "The Beatles say it's a better RockBand!!!" all you want, but despite having all kinds of respect for them as musicians...... they don't know **** about Rock Band, lol. For most of you around here they're roughly your parent's age.... what exactly makes you trust their endorsement of their own product? Their background in videogame development? Or maybe it was all the flawless FC GH videos Paul posted on youtube?

If you look at ANY interview done before the game, it's very obvious that the two living beatles both of the living widows kept a very good eye on the project and contributed a LOT to it.

The comment I was responding to was:

I read somewhere that the Beatles accepted to make the game because they looked the other band specific games and thought they were terrible, and that they could do better.

So what I was finding less-than-reliable was the fact that we were supposed to trust "The Beatles" saying that they could make a rhythm game that wasn't terrible like all the others. I wasn't questioning their participation or contribution, I was questioning Beatles+widows being able to supply reliable video game reviews.

Separating tracks was already a challenge, and it's not as though they are without resources. Splitting two guitar tracks out of each other is hard, but not necessarily impossible.

Edit: and the article you linked kind of hits on my main complaint in the first few sentences.... this can best be described as "one hell of a shopping spree".

I think they meant from a creativity level.

There seems to be a more imaginative storyline than the rest of the band specific games.

Obviously they didn't get down to all the specific things you named, they hadn't even heard of it until the idea was pitched to them.

Spoiler:

It's not a real goose, it's only a picture of one.

That's not what happened though, the quote was from the New York Times big ol article about beatles Rock Band. They said they liked the concept of a music game based around a specific band, but thought Metallica was terrible

There's no reason for more guitar tracks. More tracks would do nothing but reduce the song's difficulty, confuse the player, and reduce memory budget for everything else

I got it from here:
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/07/how-m ... rock-band/

It wasn't clear on whether they meant the game or the band was terrible.

Mistake on my part. D:
