Do you know what the Phrase Markers for these are?

Thanks

For the trill phrases you have to play at least as fast as the notes are coming or faster if desired. As long as you start and end on the correct note and keep your speed up I don't think accuracy is much of a factor.

Also if you miss one of the defined trill notes due to playing too slowly then yes you will need to strum to carry on, so not like tappable notes in that respect.

I'll try to post anything I discover about the MIDIs in there.

Thanks, somehow I missed that.

I hope these get implemented. I'd really like to play them and make charts with them.

I'd also be interested in supporting that. For my current chart, I'm just charting different guitars as different difficulties for the single pro guitar track. This is alright as a workaround, but that means I'd have to make a separate chart to make lower difficulties for all.

I understand the need for it I just don't know exactly how we'd pull it off without just adding a load of new Track Names to pick up on. Seems to me like something more dynamic is needed. Maybe along the lines of PART_GUITAR_REAL_XX will allow multiple version of the same track type will be enough. Then I guess we will just tag them with whatever name we link using the song.ini.

This would require a fair ammount of coding for me as I didn't plan for this. But I guess the sooner It's implemented the easier the changeover will be.

Any Thoughts?

I think its a good idea as it'd be jumping ahead of the mainstream games. and while were on this maybe you could add support for more then 2 guitars? (for the rare bands that have more then 2 guitarists) I think its a good idea that if multiple guitar pro parts would be added that it be done as thoroughly as possible

There were some ideas floating around in an enhancement request on FoFiX's bug tracker:
http://code.google.com/p/fofix/issues/d ... =975&can=5

I think overall, the song.ini entry should include fields such as the following:
1. The name of the MIDI track
2. The format of the track (5 lane, pro guitar, vocals, keys, etc). An identifier for pro drums might be necessary as well, since it doesn't follow all of the normal 5 lane rules.
3. The display name of the track
4. The audio file to tie to the custom track, if any.
5. Difficulty for the track

There might be some other important fields to include, but it could look something like:

Code: Select all

CUSTOM  "PART_RHYTHM_REAL"  PRO_GUITAR  "Pro rhythm guitar"  rhythm.ogg  3

Phase Shift Version 0.75f Is Available From The First Post

Changes Include:
Fixed Slider Issue
Added Support For Command Line Arguments

Command Line Example:

Phase Shift.exe "c:\Music\Radiohead\King Of Limbs\Codex" /p
This will select the song and jump right into the player select menu in practice mode.

If you don't want to launch into practice mode you can omit the /p and it will use quickplay instead.
This setup will also allow you to drag and drop the desired song folder onto the exe directly.

Thanks
David

I'll have a think on it and try and find any issues with this system. Seems fine at first glance though.

Good deal. I haven't played with Phase Shift too much yet, could you indicate the main differences between Phase Shift's quickplay mode versus its practice mode? Do both allow you to change the playback speed on the fly? Do either allow you to start and/or end on a particular section marker? Any other differences?

It's only the speed control right now, I haven't had much time to improve this. When linking directly from EOF I'd think practice mode would make the most sense. Quickplay would save score and things and I guess you don't want the game messing arround with files that EOF might be editing. Plus I will add options to jump to sections or a time so it would be easier to work with.

a rewind button would be amazing!! and though this is pushing it maybe a way to move notes? (fine tunning :P)

 I think we'll leave the editing to EOF. It would be too much work to make it work well.

Backwards is doable, infact I have it almost working but there are a few issues with it. When I start work on updating the practice features I'll most likely allow for rewinding.

Thanks
