And yeah, the world tour engine was there until GH-SH.
GHVH also uses the GHWT engine

aander91 wrote:GHM had WT's engine with a front hitwindow while GHSH had GHMs with a hitwindow extension. VH is probably a variation of GH5s engine. Graphically, GHM is GHWT with some slight fixing, while VH looks like GH5 with some sprucing as well. So I'd say VH, but after that I'd ask you why this thread even exists.

I seem to own GHWT, GHSH, and GH5. I also agree mostly with what Death_au said.
GHWT engine to me is a slighty modified GH3 engine or a GH5 beta engine. GHM is a fixed GHWT engine with added features. GHSH engine is a slightly bigger step forward. It still uses a lot of the elements form the orginal GHWT engine, but it has a lot of enhancements. I would call it GH5 RC engine. GH5 engine was a complete overhaul from the WT engine. While GHVH uses a mixture of the the GHSH and GHM engines. Using RB2 for example, It is just a modified RB1 engine, while TBRB is its own game made from scratch.
Whoa.... wait a minute are we comparing the visuals using the engines as reference... omg how nieve of us. in the visuals department, GH5, GHVH, and GHM are equal. while GHWT and GHSH are equal.

That's not what I saidRapt0r wrote:
it's highly unlikely that something developed at the same time as, but separately from GH5, would be using it's engine. I'm pretty sure the development for GH:VH would have been started around when GH:WT was just finished at the earliest. I believe the unofficial reveal of GH:VH's production was around the time that GH:M was revealed to be in production, which was way before GH5 was announced.
It just seems very unlikely that they were working with an engine that was still in development.
