Beta v0.3 is available now.
Changes:
-songs are now compared by a crc-check instead of their filesizes
-if a song is clicked in the menu in multiplayer, a query is sent to the other player to see if that player has the same song in his song_db.xml. If the other player has the song it is colored green in the menu. (If a song is colored red that means that the other player either does not have this song or that he has not stored it in his song_db.xml yet and has to select it manually)
-long songs should not go out of synch anymore
-notes move more smoothly now
-custom images and sounds can now be added to the game (they have to be put into the "data" subdirectory):
->bg.png (4:3): ingame background image
->neck.png (1:2): texture for the movin neck
->fiba1.ogg...fiba6.ogg: sounds played if the player makes a mistake when playing

Have a preview video:

Keep an eye on the scores, you can see that moep had much better streaks but I still got more points.
EDIT:
In Cliffs of Dover, moep noticed that you don't have to strm to get back into a hopo part. So even if you have streak 0, you can tap a hopo. [EDIT: I didn't notice this when I tried on Sinhle Player]
But most importantly, it was fun :laugh: .

You mean I don't have to post a correct IP to create a new server?
Yes, if you create a server you only have to give a port. Only when you connect to a server you have to give the IP and the port. If you click on a server in the serverlist this is done automatically for you.
@Kotti
Cool video.

About that score glitch: Was moepOOO playing bass or guitar when you played together. If he was playing bass it kinda makes sense. If he was playing guitar something is definitely wrong...

He was playing guitar. I think that was third song we played, we didn't notice anything during the first two. After we restarted SoS, the score glitch was gone too. [EDIT: happened again, maybe it has been there all the time, we just didn't notice]
We have used moep's server all the time.
More bug reports:
- When playing customs, I noticed that are not played perfectly synced. The difference is small, only a millisecond or so. I'm not 100% sure about this though. It could be fixed by using guitar.ogg as song.ogg, which would also remove the need for song.ogg. Like in FoF.
[I could list a million small things to the list, but I won't, because the games works already and I don't want to bother you with small things.]
