Re: Megadeth DLC announced for GH5
Tbh, I think both games are making fatal errors when it comes to DLC. They're aiming for the casual party audience who is definitely less likely to go out and buy DLC than a hardcore player looking for a challenge. The Satriani pack was a refreshing change, but that still makes it something like 2 hard songs every 3 months.

You are wrong because the casual audience is the biggest piece of the cake.
Just look on the DLC popularity for RB http://keldon.net/rockband/popularity.cgi

Re: Megadeth DLC announced for GH5
I agree with aander on this, so far my experience with RB is that all the songs are easy (not counting fof). But if there was more challenge I would like it more. I bought surfing with the alien and still havent beat it, so i need that type of challenge to keep interested. Maybe if they actually charted bands that some other people like opposed to their own favorites then it would be enjoyable. In the end, EA and Activision are only in it for the money. I personally cant justify spending 2 dollars a song if we dont get what we want; but then again i get classified as the blind GH fanboy for liking the songs on GH better (i dont give a damn if the charts suck, enjoy the experience).

Well you can't look at it song by song, I mean the casual players won't go out and spend hundreds of dollars, maybe just a $20 card once. The hardcore players obviously would have the most DLC, and further more, they're probably going to buy RB3 or RB2 when it came out.

which isn't really HMX's fault?
I doubt it was Harmonix's choice. Still the charts didn't suck... Just the music.
that's what I meant lol

To an extent. I mean if you look at top sellers on XBL, Iron Maiden full pack is way up near the top, and a few rush songs are way up there as well. But yeah, the "popular" stuff does sell the most overall.
