Heh... anyways, I'm not sure if this censor thing is supposed to be funny or just stupid anymore. It'd be funnier if the replacing words actually would fit in the same context of the censored word.

I haven't touched a GH related game for 6 months. Woo. My (dead) song thread: Contains horrible things.

You know, censoring can really change the meaning of a sentence. For example:
"**** this new system"

(as it stands at the time of writing, the f-word is replaced with ♥)
So when in reality I'm saying I hate it, it looks like I'm saying I love it.

I think I'd prefer words with similar meanings or just stick with the ****.

You mean being able to say 'ass-hat' ? :P

Personally, not sure. Surely there would be a word filtering opt-out mod out there somewhere, but I have no opinion either way.

I think he means the "Curse Filter Opt-Out" option, so you can view posts as they were written. Maybe make it an option for members 16+ of age or something?

If you discount the first line, you'll see I did know what he meant.

If opting out is not an option, I would like words that aren't as harsh but have the same meaning. Instead of ass-hat, I get butt-hat.

Well in the case of the f-bomb it depends on how your using it. Like.... "I'd ♥ you" = "I'd make love to you".

My vote would be for the "opt-out" idea, or maybe keep the "*" censoring, but make them the exact same character count as the censored word so you can get a better guess of what was said.

T3HM3T4L:I've tried to sign up for Rock Band but they just won't allow me. They keep complaining I have to 'be over 18' while I've already been 18 for over half a year, and a sign up where I noted I was born in the '50s STILL GAVE ME THAT MESSAGE

So if anyone could help me get these templates, I'd very much appreciate it. I need it to edit notes and stuff for my Rock Band 2.

aander91:Sorry, but that'd be providing for minors, which is illegal.

T3HM3T4L:But I'm 18 years old... ?

aander91:Nope. Sorry.

T3HM3T4L:Nono, you're getting me wrong, I was asking how come I am still considered a minor?

aander91:Look, we can't just go out giving these things away to people who just say they're over 18 and show no proof, we'd be out of a job.

T3HM3T4L:Nevermind, I'll use EoF for it, I found the way I could use it for that.

At the end of the day, I don't care if words or censored or not, I would just prefer the traditional asterisk method over random words that screw up the point you are trying to make.

A few asterisks over the "f-bomb" show that you are angry, but in a kid-safe way. But a random symbol or word detracts all meaning from that.

Also, the idea of disabling all censoring for members over a certain age isn't a good idea. More people would be profane just because they can , and for the people that are censored, it wouldn't be very cohesive.

Interesting feedback. I was really just doing this for a few laughs, but you guys took it seriously, hehe

Fair enough, I've implemented something even better. Go ahead and try :tongue2:
