URgh, this is the complete opposite of anything good. I can understand the censor but completely limiting my ability to post with a swear?

Swearing was never allowed before, you can still manually insert the former asterisks. Alternatively, buy a Profanity Thesaurus.

Exactly. No one will benefit from this feature as much as you ;)

Up next, a whining filter =P

it'd be nice if we could choose if we want censorship or not

I agree with lys.

Wat, the censor randomly stopped me from making a post saying "Yarp". It highlighted nothing and when I resubmitted the form, it worked fine.

ugh, i dont like this.

Not the inability to swear, i liked the asterix thing we had before, i hate the fact that i actually cant post because a swear is contained in my message. Not gonna start adding asterixs manually bugger that...

Why fix something that wasnt broken

If you don't want to add the asterisks, just change the word.

Plus, you get the benefit of having a more readable message with words that aren't censored out.

Oh, and at least with this method you actually have control over the content of your post, as opposed to some filter replacing it with asterisks or nonsense words.

at first I didn't like the new one, but on second thought, I do. People should really think about what they're posting before they do. If they don't, they'll just look like more of an idiot when they try to "work around" it so it works out in the end both ways!

Unfortunately a "stupid" filter would be a bit too hard to implement, I imagine.
