what if... (and i didn't read through all of these posts before making this suggestion) you had to supply reasoning for why you voted one way or another?? just a thought... even if it just gave you a multiple choice option box and you had to check one... things like: swearing, being a jerk, positive attitude, helpfulness, contribution to community... stuff like that...

Hmmm, there is the capability to leave comments when rating, but it's turned off. It would likely get abused considering how much you guys flame each other already.

And there really isn't much of a way to implement your checkbox idea. I'd imagine since nwru didn't make this karma mod himself that it would be a huge pain for something that doesn't really help much of anything anyways.

Also, please read (or at least skim) most of a thread before posting in one (I guess song threads, etc being an exception). It really does help the quality of the forums.
