Chat box and newsletter

If one (dedicated) member, who keeps a good eye on the entire FoF scene would be willing to write up some material for a newsletter, I can find a few ways to publish it. It doesn't even need to be as much of a news article as much as it could be a "here's what happened in the past month."

I'm going to disagree on the point of newsletter by mass email. If given a user-selectable (and defaulted to OFF) option then that's fine. However a (sub)forum dedicated to this, or newsletter by PM would seem more desireable while fulfilling the same ends.

Probably the best way to implement this.

How about doing a user group, news of members that might consider to do this. that way there's not one person that has to do all the work. ;)

I volunteer to do this. Even though I don't post that much I'm on these forums alot, and read through many topics.

Perhaps the mods for each section can do a write up about their section once a month, or as was stated experienced users on the forums could be given a section to do a write up. Could add a humour section in the newsletter about any silly drama that may have happened in a particular thread, etc.

It could work but...all the moderators are global moderators

The newsgroup idea is good. We (as in mods and admins) know and "talk" with a good bunch of the regulars, including some that seem to be pretty dedicated to the boards, so I don't think it should be too hard to form such a group.

Frets on Fire Fan Forum and Keyboards on Fire aren't the only two Frets on Fire fan sites.. A big Frets on Fire newsletter would consist of all the sites/news.
