Hi! First post here in a good while. First off, I lost access to my old account when I deleted the associated email. I didn't think I'd ever write anything on this website again, but every now and again I visit it. I've noticed that even still, people are bumping ancient threads and asking for reuploads. It's sad to me that this has been going on Since I initially registered and this website, and that most charters have straight up abandoned this website.
I want to ask something to the administrators, and no, i don't care about my old account. I'm FrOoGle, if that wasn't obvious.
Frets on Fire and FoFix are an integral part of the 5-fret community, and while it's importance can't be understated, the reality is that everyone has moved on. First to Phase Shift, then to Clone Hero, and now YARG (Yet Another Rhythm Game) is picking up steam.
So, speaking purely hypothetically, as somebody who's not alone in missing using this forum, and lowkey wants to go back to using song threads, why has this website never been rebranded? We're so far removed from FoF, we don't need a website centered around specifically just it any more.
I realize this is a pipe-dream, and that I'm most likely blabbering on into the void, never to be answered, but if this website rebranded to 'fivefretforums.org' and changed the logo, and started hyping up current rhythm games, I, and I'm sure many others as well, would gladly come back. https://imgur.com/a/d9hoTDr

Re: The past, present, and future.
Hey FrOoGle!
These are all good points. Indeed much of the community has long ago shifted off to other clones, but this forum has stayed anchored to Frets on Fire and FoFiX. Other forums have covered the other games and most have since come and gone.
I personally don't feel that there is a feasible way to get any substantial group of members to rally around this site, a rebranding, or even some form of collaborative effort. It's just not what everyone is interested in these days =( Still, I'd love to be proved wrong; we're open to ideas like this and getting a collective consensus on them.

Re: The past, present, and future.
Just the other day in CustomSongsCentral's private discord, we were talking about how we release charts, and the potential that using a forum could have for us.
I don't know how familiar you are with the current scope of Clone Hero, or YARG, what have you, but this is the basics of how we handle custom songs: Outside of various streamers' discord servers, Chorus is the current song repository that we use. Once you get approved for chorus, you can link your google drive and your charts will be there *i think* 24h after you upload them. We also have Scorespy for online leaderboards. These games still definitely have an audience. An audience that could only improve and grow with a centralized forum that everybody could easily access. The way I see it, this website has a lot more to gain than it could possibly lose.

Re: The past, present, and future.
These seem like good ideas to me. Especially because so many charts are just on different discord servers and stuff now. I might be wrong, but there isn't really a centralized place for five-fret rhythm games. This forum could fill that hole really well.
Not that I'm active anymore, haha. :p
