Let's see. I start playing GH at 2006. And, I just play at expert and practice playing on expert a lot. I never touched the other diff except when playing career mode, I play on Hard.

started playing gh2 in 2006.

here's what i did, i started out on easy. I beat the game. then i went back and played it on medium. Cept some songs (near the end) i couldn;t beat on medium, so i decided to start the hard career, and i had trouble with the first setlist, and i eventually beat it, and then i went back and finished the medium career. After that i playted the hard career, which was hard as **** for me then. I then went back over expert, which wasn't that hard after playing hard, but was still hard as ****.

this all happened in 2006, cuz i'm teh **** awesomex0rz now.

The first time I played Guitar Hero I was at a friend's birthday party. I went straight to Through the Fire and Flames on expert (it was Practice mode). I got 27%. Then I tried it on Easy. I got 80%.

I learned about Frets on Fire. I worked myself to being able to play most of the GH3 setlist on Medium (on FoF). I went to a friends house and tried beating Lou on Medium. I won.

At another friend's birthday party, I played through the entire career on Medium without any fails (it was a long night).

Then more FoF.

By the fourth time I played Guitar Hero, I was able to play Through the Fire and Flames on Hard. I was able to play most songs on Expert.

Then I got GH:WT. Then I started charting.

Etc.

i started March of 2008, at a friends house and we played GH rocks the 80's and i loved the game but couldnt afford it. so i found Frets On Fire where i found easy to be wayyy to easy so i played medium untildecember of 2008 where i skipped hard and went to expert.

when i first started hard i used just 3 fingers...on expert today i still do

my first gh was gh3 on christmas 2007 (couldnt play slow ride on easy, didnt have a clue what to do so i kept failing,by the end of that same day i beat the game on easy), then i rented gh80s and had my friend come over, and he brought gh2 and i played medium for the first time, then i got gh1-gh80s for my b-day and worked for some money to buy gha, then the rest were either ones i bought, or i got them from someone else

i have every single gh that ever came out in stores

I started out with FoF and a keyboard, and back then there weren't many songs made outside of expert/amaIng difficulty. However, the old FoF had no failing by default, so I basically started on expert and just got better at it over the first month or so of playing until I could pretty much pass most songs if failing was an option.

When I first played GH (my first one was GH2), the transition to xplorer felt strange, as I was used to smaller spaces between the fret buttons and a canyon between 4-5  . I persisted with expert though and put many hours into FCing Sweet Child. I also upstrummed by default as it felt more comfortable, but later switched that to down and alt strumming.

That's my GH history

I got GH2 when it came out and played Easy until I could FC every song on that difficulty. I continued that method until I reach Expert. Now I'm best GH player in town  ... Still not anywhere near as good as half the people on this forum.

I started with FoF and a keyboard like that other guy wrote.

I actually played FoF songs on whatever difficulty they came in...so I never really worked my way up...I just went with the flow.
