Fretting Makes You Better At Playing?

Postby Electro Tomato » Sat Jul 18, 2009 3:42 pm

For me, it does. Ever since I started fretting, I've gotten better and better, I guess because I understand how charts work more or some bullsheet.

But, seriously, I just beat TTFAF for the first time ever. I couldn't even get past the first part a month ago. Yay.

Drum fretting has made be much better at playing drums.

So it seems your statement is true.

<@away_xbox> Amak11 cut the Peenus wire. This has defused the timer on the TNT! Just try and get it off you without setting it off, ok?

For me its kinds false. I haven't charted anything in a month and i 4 starred Misirlou for the first time. (that songs really hard to keep a note streak going. :cursing: )
There is no need to be upset.

Yeah it really does. Especially for drums in my case - when you start fretting you think of your R L hands and how they would play the fills and stuff, so when you play an actual song you know how.

I'm wondering what 2 years of fretting would've done to me

It makes sense. A lot of the better fretters are also good at playing. I haven't truly tested this out with myself because I don't play hard songs, I just play a bunch of Trivium and Bullet-like songs. Although, fretting drums does give me the ability to play the song on real drums. :woot:

Yes.

Well, I guess it just gets me familiar with the song. That is of course knowing it isn't a song with extremely fast double bass or gravity blasts (not that I'd ever fret a song with those.) Gives me a feel for the song.

Oh yes, it's definitely helped me alot... I guess it's because of how many times you test that crazy solo you fretted, which of course is going to help you beat other people's songs...

What? Emperor's "Loss and Curse of Reverence" isn't good enough for you?
