Really? What's your hardware? I tried about a year ago and couldn't get more than like 10 frames. Maybe they've improved the emulator since.

wat. There's a video on youtube from several years ago of someone running at 60FPS on a much weaker computer than I have. Anyway, I have...

3.5 GHz Phenom 2 X4 970
4gb RAM
ATi Radeon 4780 (I think)

I must admit SotC was pretty bad fps-wise, but I've played new games on old machines almost my whole life so I'm kind of used to low frame-rates.
Also you got to remember the beautiful landscape, it's pretty impressive even with ps2's limitations.

And the music...

Beautiful? Low res murky brown textures everywhere and BLOOOOOOOOOOOM. I'm wasn't impressed in any way. Brown and bloom before it was popular.

Read the link about it being played on an emulator. The game employed some pretty crazy technologies to make it look ahead of it's time, although it seems like it wasn't really noticeable with the PS2's crippling hardware limitations.

You post makes sense. You say it used "crazy technologies" to make it look ahead of it's time and then say it wasn't really noticable.

Did you read the article? The PS2 really couldn't pull off maxed graphics so it had to be dumbed down. Read the article.

And emulator isn't going to bring out what they didn't put into the game.

Exactly? You're proving my point. The game has technology that the PS2 really couldn't pull off very well. Thus the 20 FPS. Look at the cutscene comparison in the link.
