Weekly Grudge Match: 8th Edition [Country]
This week there will be only three choices, and return to the single vote in the poll.
GENRE: Country
BANDS:
Carrie Underwood
Lady Antebellum
George Strait
Pick your band, discuss why you like them, your favorite album, etc. What do these bands have in common? How are they not alike? Don't bash the thread, contribute to it and make it better!

I honestly have never heard of either of those bands, not a big country fan. No one really is here, it's really an American style of music I think.

Same. Unless George Strait is from Dire Straits.

Well, the only real "band" listed is Lady Antebellum, but I can't really stand them. Something about "Need You Now" just doesn't go well with me. However, "American Honey" is an alright song.
Carrie Underwood, I respect the fact she stayed true to her "roots" after Idol fame. I'd say "Some Hearts" was her best album. Oh, and she's hot.
George Strait would have to be my choice as to the "best" of the three. He has been called ""King of Country". His career has been active since '75. With 13 multi-platinum, 33 platinum and 38 gold albums, he's without a doubt a legend. As far as best album/song, I can't choose. His older stuff is great but his new stuff is quite good as-well.
Each of these have different styles, so I can't discuss anything in common.

Re: Weekly Grudge Match: 8th Edition [Country]
As much as i hate country as genre, i love nice powerful female voices who sing country :)
Since i havent heard much of lady Antebellum, ill go ahead and shove my choice next to carrie underwood.
(btw, 2 chicks vs 1 dude seems like an unfair fight. Should have done an all female country grudge match. instead of George Strait, should have chose Shania Twain as she defined modern pop country.)
