Rockband Drums (Need Help)
Hey,
I was thinking about getting drums for my Guitar Hero games from my friend. Since i realized the Rockband drumset works with the Guitar Hero game i was prty happy , except for 1 problem ... He has a standard wired rockband drumset for the PS3. I use a xbox 360. Since they're both wired could the drumset sync with the Xbox 360???
P.S. Sry for the noob question...

Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
Yes. It's actually a big scam that they make PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers. The only difference is a sticker. Don't tell anyone. I could get into big trouble for saying this...
PS I work for PlayStation

Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
It's to do with how PS3 drums interface with the console. It's just not possible, unless you pay for an adapter (which are steadily available on ebay)

Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
... Since you obviously don't know how things work, no, you cannot use a PS3 controller on an Xbox 360 without buying some expensive converter. It's not worth it.

Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
I have to agree with Rapt0r on this. Much cheaper to find a 360 set of drums then buying an expensive adapter (Even tho he doesnt say it). :P

Both talking out of your asses.
When it comes to the peripherals the potential for cross platform compatibility exists. I proved this with a thread here several years ago showing how you could use instruments from the xbox on the ps2 (or something, I forget specifics). SO while you are correct that the OP cannot do what he wishes it is really only that way by design, not necessity. While the difference maybe more than simply a different fascia, its not much beyond that at all.
Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
Where did I say there was a difference? It's all about proprietary peripherals so they (Microsoft and sony to an extent) can maximize profits.

Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
The compatibility between PS2 devices and 360 was completely irrelevant to the topic. (And i believe it was that you could use the PS2 guitars on the 360 GH2, the specifics escape me)

Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
No, it was 360 guitar on PS2. I have tested this myself. PS2 guitars all use PS2 ports, not USB. The ones that do use USB are the exact same as the PS3 instruments.
Re: Rockband Drums (Need Help)
W8?!?! So the Xbox 360 and PS3 guitars work on the PS2 but the PS3 wont work on the Xbox 360??? Also i was talkin bout the drums... i alrdy have guitars 4 the Xbox 360.
