Hey guys, maybe you can help with a possible problem i've been having and steer me in the right direction. Last week i bought a new LG 32" LCD TV and got it home, turned on fine and it works good while it's on, runs in HD good, Xbox runs good, computer works good on it and so on. When i power it down it goes into like a standby mode which i assume is normal, when i hit the power button again it turns it completely off, etc. and that also seems normal. Now when i go to turn it on i have issues with it. A few times i've had to hit the power button on both the remote and the TV a whole bunch of times (I'm talking alot) just to get it to turn back on and there's been a few occasions where i've had to unplug the power cord and plug it back in, in order to turn the TV back on and it fires right up.
Now I'm not an ace on LCD TV's but that just doesn't seem normal to me, i mean you should just have to hit the power button once to turn things on. I guess for the LCD TV savy people, is this TV defective and should i return this TV? I mean it's still very much under warranty, i even have a 2 year coverage plan.

Re: LCD TV Question
Can't you just leave it on the standby mode? I think completely turning off the tv (the light is all off) is supposedly bad for the tv itself.
Maybe it's best to call for some tech support.

Re: LCD TV Question
Probably defective. It's expected to be able to turn on and off on demand, leaving it in standby consumes electricity.

Re: LCD TV Question
sometimes when I hit the power button on my TV it takes a while to start but I forget that it has to warm up a bit so I keep hitting the button (because it's taking a while), which actually turns it on and off and stops the warming up process completely.
Re: LCD TV Question
Did it not come with a manual? Maybe it's some weird ass mode on that specific model.
The TV we have in the living room makes your press the power button once, wait till the yellow light stops blinking, and the press the power button again before it'll turn on.
The TV in my room can only be turned on manually(by pressing a huge power button on the front) if it's not in standby mode.
