Strong deja vu?

Postby Rapt0r » Thu Aug 19, 2010 9:38 pm

Does anyone else here ever have really really strong Deja Vu in relation to dreams they had months, or even years, ago? This is an almost daily occurrence for me. A few days ago this happened but never like this. I had a dream where I was at Kekki's house hanging out (I was actually sleeping there when this dream happened). I left his house to go for a walk. I ended up somehow getting lost. When I did find where his house was, I ran into my ex, Katee, and her family. We talked about how we've been and the usual small talk. I woke up shortly after.

Well, about an hour or so after I woke up, I got a text. I figured it was the usual good morning text from my current cute, Autumn. Nope, it was from Katee.

"Hey tyler, i know it sounds weird but i had the random urge to send u a msg and see how ur doin"

What. The. Duck.

Also dreaming general.

Oh my...
When I was younger I had a dream about a few of friends and me playing soccer at school.
That same morning at school I played soccer with a few friends. Felt DejaVu man.
Funny thing is, I had never played soccer at that school and never played again.

I forgot to mention I haven't talked to this girl in close to a year, nor have I thought about her much.

I thought I was going crazy. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.

deju vu is when the memory portion of your brain begins working at a faster rate than the portion that processes information. Just throw it off by doing/thinking odd thoughts. I hate when this happens.

But that doesn't explain my dream and then that happening THE SAME DAY. I always just pass it off as my mind playing tricks on me, like you've explained, but not this time. I woke up thinking "Damn, that was a weird dream". If the dream did not exist, I would not be able to make so many details about it.

normal coincidence.

though it has happened to me often where I swear I've experienced the exact same scene some time before in my life.

For me, Deja vu is like, I know for a fact that the scenario has never happened to me before, but I do have some relation to it from some unknown reference. So maybe something I saw on TV was similar, or something I read in a book. I'm not sure whether I like it or not, but it is truly weird.

Yeah. That's Deja vu. Deja vu technically doesn't have to do anything with dream, it's just like Vedi said: your brain is remembering what's happening NOW.

I get this a lot as well.

So wait. Let me get this straight.

I see an apple on my table. I process this in my head. I remember seeing the apple on the table. This is processed again, and then I have Deja vu?
