Resident Evil: Afterlife

Re: Resident Evil: Afterlife
Honestly, I was in the "meh, another crappy RE movie" camp until I saw the trailer. Now, I actually kinda want to see it.

I haven't seen any of them, but this looks like just another action movie, but WORSE because of the 3D cheese.
Re: Resident Evil: Afterlife
Cameron's 3D tech is more than just "3D cheese". have you seen Avatar? it feels like the movie screen is really a window and everything's actually happening.
Also, I haven't seen any of the RE movies either, but since I enjoy the games, and I've heard the movies butcher the storylines, I opted not to see them.

Extinction was bad enough, adding the "psychic powers" elements. This looks like every lame action movie put together, with the added 3D cheese effect this era is starting to milk. This doesn't even look like Resident Evil. Just a generic action flick with RE characters and some back story thrown in.

I really hated that movie in 3D. It was annoying, useless and there was only one part where I was actually impressed with it.

This. The first time I saw a trailer for this movie I immediately thought "What the hell, when did RE become the Matrix?"
As for the "New 3D", it's definitely a lot cooler than regular 3D, and is barely even the same thing. However, it's waaaay over-hyped.

Avatar 3D was just gimmicky as all the pixar 3D movies. Open your eyes and stop believing in all the hype.

Pretty much. I mean, having the "avatar 3D" in a movie is cool, but whether or not you see a movie shouldn't be based upon it, it should be based upon how good the actual movie itself is.

I'm a big fan of the games, the movies were ok, but now that they are adding the features of resident evil 4 and 5, i think this is a end of resident evil movies.

Pretty lame.
Like most 3D movies anyway.

The first three movies were disgustingly awful.
They had nothing to do with RE games.
Now I watched this trailer... I watched the damn trailer and I was like

Not really, it's the best movie I've ever seen in 3D, probably because it was thought to be like that from the start, instead of just adding it for a quick buck. 3D can be done right, it's not always just an excuse to rob you of a few bucks on most of them, 3D did enhance the movie and sort of made sense considering the plot.
