Movie Reccomendation Thread

Hey, so I'm pretty bored and am looking for a good movie to watch. I mostly like comedies, but I'll also watch a good Sci-Fi or horror movie. Anyone got any recommendations? Only things that are out on DVD though, since I hate downloading bootlegs.

I thought the Hangover was mediocre, and wait. Postal? As in Uwe Boll Postal? wat?

I thought the Hangover was above average, but not amazing. Still, one of the better comedies I've seen released in a while. Also, yes the Postal directed by Uwe Boll. Why? Something wrong with that?

Just looked up those and watched trailers, none really catch my eye as something I'd bee too into.

Downloading that and the 2nd one "Bogus Journey" now (since the torrent had both I figured I might as well). Looks pretty funny.

Also, 2 more I saw recently that I thought were great:
The Big Lebowski (Pretty old and confusing as hell, but really funny if you can understand what's going on lol.)
Hot Tub Time Machine (When I first heard of this and saw commercials I thought it was gonna suck, but it was actually pretty damn funny!)

IDK, something about a movie revolving around a Pregnant woman just doesn't seem too appealing.

Vedi did speak truth with one of his recommendations - Perfect Blue is AMAZING. However, it does also ask that you think as you watch the movie. Given the movies you've said you liked... I doubt you would want to. Go watch the Underworld movies, 1 and 3. Skip 2 (3 is a prequel so you won't miss anything).

And I really want to see Children of Men. Again, it's one of those movies that asks you to think, iirc.

I don't really think Children of Men is that much of a thinker, it's just a very good thriller.

Well, I'm not really looking for an Anime right now, so perfect blue I just kinda moved past.

Everyone keeps recommending Children of Men, so I guess I'll give it a shot.


Also, just remembered another movie that I saw recently: Fight Club. At first I thought it was gonna be a stupid street fighting movie like Never Back Down or whatever it's called, but it's not, that movie plays with your mind.
