What? God, what are you 8? That's something estemshorn would say.

On a semi related note, Peace Walker is amazing. Fantastic control scheme, easily the best in a portable shooter I've ever seen. They are fluid and are unbelievably easy to use. I like the layout of the 3DS, hoping they can match the PSP on the shooter level, although I always thought 2 screens in a shooter game would be more clumsy than useful.

I must say, I like the look of Sims 3 also.
And aander, where are you hearing about this control scheme? I'd like more info myself...

Err, you mean with Peacewalker? Peacewalker is a PSP game. I just posted that because Vedicardi had earlier stated something about PSP shooters having bad controls.

Playable != good. I have Peace Walker as well and god damn I hate the controls. DS has always done shooters better but arguing one genre of video games for control schemes is stupid.

Yup, everything I've heard about Peace Walkers' controls is "this would be one of the greatest games ever if the PSP had two analog sticks but it doesn't and the controls suck"

What? I feel the complete opposite. I picked it up and was fine with the controls in about 15 minutes, and I don't mean "playable". It's far more than that. What scheme are you using? I'm using Shooter and I haven't had any trouble with them at all, which is rare for a PSP game.

I've never played Peacewalker, so I can't comment on that. But IMO I don't like to play shooters where I have to aim with an analog stick. I don't like it because no matter how much I mess with the settings on one, I can't get it to move the way I would like it too. I play shooters on the wii and ds because on the wii, I can point and aim, or on the ds use the touch screen to aim. Now excuse me while I go play Modern Warfare Reflex.

Edit:
On an unrelated note, I found a release date for the 3DS and it says: "out by March 31, 2011" and mentions that the e3 design is not yet final.

In the few Wii shooters I've played, aiming is good, but turning is a pain in the backside.

Nice to hear, too that despite a lack of release date, the 3DS isn't that far off. That link got me thinking though, if you had the power to tweak the 3DS given what you've seen, what would you change? (This question is aimed at anyone and everyone)

2 sticks and a multi touch display (if it doesn't already).

I think a second slide pad could be added above the power button. It would help with controls and moving the in game camera. A lot of the comments on sites about the 3DS are asking for this, but I'm not sure if Nintendo will actually add one or just go the way of the psp and only have one.

I reckon they'll stick with one, despite how awesome having two would be. That was my first thought also.
Multitouch would also be nice, but considering they expect you to hold the unit with one hand and use a stylus with the other, then I doubt ninty will deem it necessary. Allegedly the old DS is capable of recognizing multi-touch, but not necessarily getting the positions of all touches.

How is it capable of recogizing multi-touch? It always seemed to average everything touching it to one central point, meaning, if I touch 2 spots, it picks a spot between the 2.

No one ever made use of it. And as I said, it couldn't get positions of multiple touches, just recognize the fact that it had multiple touches.

Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPbPMiaO ... re=related
It's a crap demo, and doesn't work properly, but it's proof that the DS supports multitouch.
