Bands with orchestra?
I'm having trouble with finding bands that make use of an orchestra, or something along those lines. Could anyone help me find those kinds of bands?

There are some good orchestra's; ELO for example. And there's metallica's S&M.
And you should definitely check Ayreon out if you haven't already. It's all by the same composer (who happens to be from the Netherlands), and got quite some orchestral pieces. Right now, his rock-opera is 12 hours long though.

Re: Bands with orchestra?
Metallica S&M deserves another mention, its one of my favorite live albums of all time just because of the symphony.
Also: Kiss Alive IV, or better known as KISS Symphony, absolutely worth the listen.

If you can read this then you've gone too far.

Apocalyptica (main instruments are classical), Epica(orchestra parts are done on keyboard), and Trans-Siberian Orchestra(full orchestra + rock instruments). All are Symphonic Metal.
Here's a big list of Symphonic Metal if you like the above:

Also, Within Temptation does live stuff with REAL orchestra if that's what you are looking for.

Re: Bands with orchestra?
X Japan did an entire album where they converted their albums into symphony pieces (Symphonic Blue Blood). A lot of their stuff in general has symphony behind it. Here's one of the epics (there is one version that is only "classical" and this version that also has guitars and vocals and drums etc).
A Silver Mount Zion and Godspeed You! Black Emperor are both basically small orchestras.
The band Rage made an album called XIII that uses orchestra often, particularly in the "Changes" trilogy section. Other albums by them with large orchestra sections include "Lingua Mortis (And The Symphonic Orchestra Prague)" and "In Vain" They also have a live album called "Metal Meets Classic."
Gastunk has an orchestra track or two on "Midnight Rain"
Rhapsody has "Symphony of Enchanted Lands" which actually has some vocal symphony parts too.

Really? My brother has that CD, and I haven't heard anything symphonic(of what I did hear). Maybe I'll have to check it out later.

I think it was called the Exogenesis Symphony or something? It had 3 parts I believe, and one part was written for a movie (The International?).

Re: Bands with orchestra?
Yup
"Exogenesis Symphony" (parts 1 through 3)
Prog rock often makes use of orchestra.
Hurmmm... can't really think of many more...
I know there are some I know. Goddamnit.
