I am still in Emergency Ahead. I like it because, like Vedi said, it lends itself to fun, wicked basslines. Anyone ever heard "Maxwell Murder" or "Journey To The End" by Rancid?

But yeah, now I get to rip **** up on guitar in my style of music. They taught me the song "Necromancy" today. We jammed it. It was fun.

Rancid is the king of amazing punk basslines.

I knew it would be a death metal band. Good luck

Congrats :D

I may or may not leave the band I'm currently in. I thought these guys were chill and into it, but they're obviously not dedicated. :P They keep rescheduling and telling me it's because of my work schedule.

Yeah, this probably won't work out. I'll just find a few people myself and we'll jam :)

Well, first bands usually don't work. Try craigslist, it works wonders.

The screaming is hilarious I think, but the song writing is really cool, ESPECIALLY Necromancy.

We're most likely gonna rerecord everything anyways. And their bassist just got back from Arizona when I got in the band, so that had to have been recorded without him.

I'm gonna revive this thread to continue conversation.

Quit that band and started my own with one of my neighbors. We're working on our first few songs right now... great stuff. Genre is alternative/hard rock/punk/misc. type thing. Once we finish writing and start performing, we'll settle on a classification.

Tomatoh, how is your band working out?

Congrats, Vedi, ha ha.

Also, Electro's band probably consists of a combination of musical preaching, and assuring the audience that the less they understand the better the band is.

I wrote a few more songs for my band. We have 9 now, and I'm going to record the Guitar tracks sometime. Is 9 songs too much for an EP though? It would be kinda weird to start off with a full album (we have 3 songs in the works.)

We haven't practiced in a month though. We played a show at Harpos in Detroit and haven't done **** since, lol. We might do a mini-tour this summer.

9 is too much for an EP yes. Five-Six max... Just save the other three for bonus tracks on a full album or something.

You don't have to start with an EP. You can do a full length demo, so you can sell it at shows and get people familiar with your songs before you do a real LP. Seeing as you seem to be playing quite large shows for a starting band, you should put the money you make into a band fund and save until you can get a mixer and some mics, that way you can record your music. Also, having recorded demos is how you're gonn get picked up by an indie label and maybe move even bigger. It all starts with demos.

Also, I quit the band. Not my style, I felt like a 3rd wheel, wasn't fun.

Sorry to hear, Tomato. Kind of my situation with the last band I was in. Luckily, I get along with the guys in my band right now because we've known each other forever, and we learned to play together. It's natural, I guess.
