Spoiler:The part where you kill lambert in splinter cell double agent. (I didn't know you didn't have to kill him in my first playthrough.)

it's a DS game that no one talked about when it was released in the gaming press, so I don't know it very well. I just saw an ad for it once, that's the only way I recognize the name.

In my opinion, its one of those "hidden gems".

Only emotional moment I've ever had in a video game was in HL-2 Ep. 2

Spoiler:when at the end Alyx's father is killed

, only reason why is because I get really into the game and that hit me like... :crying:

One of the best stories for a RPG imo. Didn't someone make an anime of that recently?

Anyways back on topic. Most emotional moment? FFVI

Spoiler:The world is basically torn apart, and Celes is asleep for an entire year. Cid had taken care of her the entire time she was out. After waking up, Cid dies shortly after, leaving Celes alone on the island. She climbs to the cliff that the other survivors jumped off of, and she jumps off herself.

Bahaha, that's exactly what I put earlier in the thread...just not as detailed, haha.

Mission Kellogg's, it was damn good game and came from a cereal box

And the intro is epic, the crocodiles have just messed up their farm and tiger is shaking his fist yet still smiling

yeah there was a short series of OVAs that covered the first part of the game (up until you go to the other world). It's going to be continued this spring.

I know that people have already said these but for me hands down the most emotional moment in any video game has to be

Spoiler:when Sepheroth murders Aeris in FFVII. I still remember the first time I saw that. It blew me away.

closely followed by

Spoiler:the end of FFX when Tidus begins to fade out and puts his arms around Yuna before he does. It's one of those holy **** moments that you never really forget. My wife was watching it with me and she wound up with tears in her eyes.

A close runner up has to be

Spoiler:in Resident Evil: Code Veronica when that teenager is transformed into a mutant creature that Claire is forced to kill, then she stays with him afterwards to comfort him as he dies.

It might sound silly to some but that really got to me lol.

Oh, man! I think I still have that game somewhere! Although for some reason I could never figure out how to get through the first level (I was a smart little kid back then.) XD

World of Warcraft:
Getting killed by that extremely twinked out paladin...I think his name's Qpacc... Everyone hates him.

Oh wait that's drama. My bad.

I'd say:

Grand Theft Auto Vice City

Spoiler:...When Lance betrays you at the end and you have to kill him. Lance was awesome.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

Spoiler:...When Smoke betrays you at the end also. Smoke was also awesome.

Timesplitters 2

Spoiler:...Yet another death, Corporal Hart dies at the end.

Resident Evil 5

Spoiler:...When you first fight what's-her-name with your first meeting with Wesker, and then you have to save her.

PM me for my Wii or DS Friend Codes.

A bunch of the ones mentioned here I agree with.

Here are a few more - most of them aren't really sad, but simply emotional.
Mother 3. That whole game is pretty sad...

Spoiler:Either the sunflower scene or the end of the game are even more so.

Suikoden 2 - again, much of it.

Spoiler:Waiting for Jowy outside Muse, the final duel, or forcing the 'bad' ending (by giving up in Tinto); additionally the main sad theme of the soundtrack is powerful.

And Final Fantasy 9 gets me too

Spoiler:When Zidane gives up after discovering he's a clone - the music is huge.

And Final Fantasy 10, in addition to the other scene mentioned

Spoiler:Walking up towards the Yevon Dome in Zanarkand to face Yunalesca - right after catching up to the 'present'. Music, again.
