Re: Who inspired you into picking up a REAL guitar?
I was in my friends room and he picked up his guitar showed me Smoke on the Water and left the room, by the time he came back I could play it well, went home the next morning I started playing my dad's acoustic and next thing I know for my 12th birthday I get a Guitar.
My dad then just bought a bass wanting to learn to play then I ended up learning it.

Lol, that souinds like the typical high school guitarist. All because playing guitar is "cool." What they don't realize is that they make people's ears bleed cuz they wanna be "cool." (Not insulting you, I'm just speaking in general. o.O)
For me, I'd have to say it was my friends.. Shortly after, I was further inspired by Brian Kahanek, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Claudio Sanchez, Travis Stever, and Eric Johnson, just to name some off the top of my head.
Oh and most recently, as in yesterday, JIN, the Russian guitarist that Puppetz fretted. (JIN - "Breaking the Sky")
Speaking of JIN, I found out last night that you can get tons of his music from his website for free... o.o

Actually, I'll just go ahead and say that was exactly what happened. :D It's okay, though. I saw the error of my ways soon after.

You have good taste in music. Although, I have to say that as far as soloing goes, Travis is really not that good, atleast compared to Claudio. He has some good rhythm skills; his backgrounds melodies work well with the songs. But you can clearly see he's not that good with solos in the live DVDs.

I'm left handed and always picked up a guitar the wrong way, people would look funny at me and I couldn't play ****. I'm no Jimi.
My father inspired me to play the sax.

I saw the Edgar Winter Group live a few years back. Went out and bought my own geeter.
