Mecha's kinda gay. It's just big robots launching missles at each other. Boooooriiiing. Samurais and swordfighting, are awesome.

Not much of a person for anime, most of the stuff I saw was pretty bad IMO. There are a few exceptions though...

FLCL - Insane bit of animation, with awesome music
Evangelion - Overrated, but still good.
Akira - Great movie, I need to get my hands on the manga.
Now and Then, Here and There - Interesting, I enjoyed it more then I thought I would...
Cowboy Bebop was ok... A bit too long for my tastes, and good music
Shin-chan - Funny as hell.

...And, wow, that's all I can think of. That is, of course, if we aren't including the carnal side of anime

i haven't seen the Akira movie, although i read half of the manga and it was awesome. although, the manga is supposed to be totally different than the movie because the manga is 6 200 page volumes, while the movie is like 1.5 hours. so they couldn't do much in the movie.... apparently they cut out a ton of stuff.

The Akira movie is good stuff, the ending was just unsatisfying for me.

Yeah, a lot was definitely dropped.

Gotta love how the movie was done completely by hand, even if it is kinda, erm... "ugly." :)

I had the original in the free movies section of On!Demand Comcast, my mom wouldn't let me watch it though because it was rated R.

Yeah, I know it's violent, maybe they'll have it on again in five more years.

No, I haven't, well I don't think it was anyway... I meant the character design wasn't the nicest thing to look at.

And yes, it is quite violent

what got me, was my parents looked through each of the manga before i read them, and i think my mom either missed this part, or stared right at it and didn't get it (black and white) but the part where (possible spoilers)

tetsuo's arm gets chopped off by the satellite. i mean, blood everywhere!
