I've been cracking my neck/back more and more over the past few years, and people are just starting to tell me that its bad for me.

So, some research gave me the conclusion that, yes it is bad for me.

BUT, I couldn't find any good methods to try and stop neck/back cracking. The only thing people do is try to quit cold turkey, but I was wondering if there is an easier way.

You know, something to take my mind off of my neck/back when I feel like cracking it.

Yea, If I feel like the pressure is getting too much I could try that.

Try taking your mind off of it by doing something else.

It's what I did with my knee cracking, and it worked.

Yes it works. Before I cracked my fingers and ate my fingernails... Since I play guitar I stopped:

1) I've got an occupation.
2) I need fingernails to play finger picking :p

Another good thing to occupate yourself is the Pen Spinning. What? You don't know what it is? I'm sure there's someone in your class that do it instead of listening to the teacher, you know, play with the pen :p I'm not bad at all at this (i've got a lot of traning at school...) and it's very fun cause the teachers don't like you because they can't do that but they can't say anything since you don't disrupt the class (if you're good, the pen don't fall :p ).

You can check videos of Pen Spinning on Youtube... There is websites to learn it if you don't want to learn it yourself...

I play with pens in class a lot anyway... I'm naturally restless (not ADHD, restless.)

Whenever you find yourself trying to, then think about blinking and/or breathing.

Oh wow, don't make me go insane.

Anyways, I wanted to crack soooo much today after I had college 7:30-11, work 1-5, then another work 5:30-10.
Oh yea, I was stressed and I wanted to crack.

But, I never did today. Not Once!

I hope it gets easier....

There's always the option of wearing a body cast from the hip, up.

...Or get scoliosis and one of those back brace things.

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

I've, I guess, damaged veins by cracking my neck. I got a sharp pain, followed by a spreading warmth. That'll stop it for a while. Whenever I'm trying to stop a bad habit, I negative reinforce it. The most severe involved me kicking the back of ankle several times, HARD. It stops things quickly.
Why am I on this website? I'm clearly over the age limit of 14.
