What game systems are in your possession?

Programmers don't just prefer windows. There is a market for games on Windows unlike the Mac. Most people who want to play games, will play on a windows machine.

That's far from the truth. Windows is standard no matter where you go and developers go to whatever is standard. If apple decided to realease it's source code for it's OS and the arcitecture of it's chipsets, there would not only be games for windows, but games for mac. Now with lnux it is a different story because it is contantly changing; because of sony, linux is being brought out as a gaming platform, also all linux OS's have support for newer processor technology (ie. cell proc.). There wasn't any preference in the gaming industry, no one had a choice. If windows wasn't around, we would all be throwing rocks at cars

Well, I have a Wii and a PS2, Also as of today I am the owner of a DSi. I guess my computer counts to because I play some games on it.

Windows is not open source so how can apple going open source matter. Also, how can you get anymore standardized than a Mac? Seriously? The OS and the computers are all made by the same company. You don't get computers with parts from **** loads of other companies.

Your not getting what i'm saying. The source for windows is in public domain. Which means anyone can modify to fit there needs. There is all a bunch of mods that are for windows, which come from those sources. (i.e. uxtheme patch, and program ports to XP). Without the windows source, linux wouldn't be around. Most ideas for linux come from windows and MAC. Mac's are not standerdized, they are redundant. I see macs in every doctors office, but where do i see PC's ... hmmm. I see them everyday when you go to the store, when I walk into a office building, in my school.

Here is another analogy. Are brakes STANDARD on all cars? What if brakes were optional? How would you stop? (the car in front of you does not count)

Same applies with windows. Windows is standard because it just is.

Look on google for the source code for Mac OS X and the source code for Windows. Mac keeps it in the cloeset and windows shows off for the whole world to see (like a stripper or hooker, depends)

Also last case of point, Macs are not just made by one company. Google it before you say anything. The only parts of the mac computer that are made by mac are the MOBO and chipsets, everything else is from other companies. (i.e. processors, RAM, Video, sound, etc..)

Windows is strictly closed-source. No one can modify it to fit their needs. It is what it is and you can't change it. Uxtheme patch, for example, is done by simply removing a protection on a .dll, something for which source isn't needed. In extreme cases, it's possible to reverse-engineer some components of Windows, but it still isn't the original source code and instead just a personal interpretation of the code.
Linux has been around far before Windows. If we go way back, in the 70's UNIX was already the platform of choice for active development in universities, for example. One could say Windows is based off Linux, but never the other way around. Linux uses no components or code of Windows anywhere, it's fully original, free and it can be modified at will. Also, OSX has opened parts of their code, which are available to anyone, but are only specially useful for developers and modders. Microsoft keeps Windows to itself, and for good reason, just look at the scandal that was when a small portion of Windows 2000 was leaked online.
