Ok, I am now a level 22 Asmodian Loli Templar on Kahrun(EU).

I have to be honest... PvP was NEVER my thing, but PvP on Aion... man I ain't had that much fun in AAAGES. Normally MMORPG PvP = Loads of People running at each other head on and twatting each other with huge weapons.
With Aion PvP you can make use of the high ground and glide over the opposing forces to cut-off their retreat route and THEN **** them with huge weapons. Not to mention being able to fight while flying is a huge plus.

Death to the Elys.

But the PvE side (leveling) gets veeeerrrrrry grindy after a while. For me that doesn't make a blinding bit of difference because I get to grind... as a loli. (But seriously I personally don't mind grinding.)

TL;DR

Better than WoW.

i will agree with the WoW hate with one disclaimer: as a solo game, WoW sucks, big time. played with friends, it's a load of fun.

WoW is a great immersive experience. Have no friends? Find a guild to join/play with. That makes it all the more better.

I had played WoW since launch all the way up to January this year. Yes it's immersive but they totally **** it up.
Pre-TBC will always be the best version of WoW. None of that Arena PvP ****, none of those pussy 10man/25man raids, none of that "crit rating", "expertise", ****.
If they kept WoW's Pre-TBC style and carried that on through the expansions I would probably be playing it now. In in the end I just thought "**** this" and quit.

The PvP ranking system in AION (at first glance) appears to be like the original PvP ranking of WoW. Not to mention the never ending battle for the Abyss. Which is like the old Alterac Valley, but literally never ending, a true PvPvE war. Personally I can't wait to get to 50 so I can fight in the Abyss with my Legion (guild). It just looks so epic.

Other way around with me, i played original and it was sh*t. Came back at WotLK and got hooked. I think 10/25 mans are great for the casual player that can't join a raiding guild for 40 mans. Also, Ulduar is AMAZING

I can see where you are comming from, different people different tastes.

WoW now is basically "here, have some free epics and go kill some bosses for small upgrades". Back in the day, WoW was hard. You had to put in a lot of effort to get anywhere. Which I can see being unappealing to most mmo gamers, or casual players as you put it. But that is what I liked about it.

well if you look at it that way you can say that about any game that doesn't have a set end goal. CS:S, FoF, whatever. The fun of an MMO is really the same as most other competitive games like CS:S or FoF, it's from knowing you're better at it than X.

that's what those types of games have as rewards in comparison to a game like Dead Space where your reward is a legitimate ending or whatever, isn't it? Sure games with defined endings have elements of this "I'm better than X" competition but that's pretty much the only draw that an MMO has and that's what it's gameplay elements feed off of.

Same with RTS games.

I'm just making this all up off the top of my head though so whatever lol

Except you don't have to pay anything else than the game.

MMOs don't take skill.
