What the hell's a FL?
And you don't need a midi of the song to fret it, you just need an .ogg of it. You can convert mp3s to .ogg format using Audacity.
Read the Guide to Making Your Own Songs for FoF guide.

EDIT: Just found the topic you were talkin' about. Just skimmed through it, but I get the gist of it. You can convert mp3s to midi using Anvil.

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.
So long, farewell.

So contribute some other way. With that attitude you won't get out any quality songs anyway.

To "fret" a song with FL Studio, Anvil Studio, or any other MIDI editor, you'll need an existing MIDI file - otherwise creating the MIDI itself is exactly what fretting by hand is.
If that single site has no MIDI of that song, it doesn't mean none is existing, go on searching. You could also use a PowerTab file and convert it to MIDI (like I recently did for my first song) - there may be other formats that can be converted to MIDI, but there's no possibility to convert a MP3- / OGG- or similar file to a MIDI automatically.

Even if you converted one(MP3.) There would be a ton of information for you to sort in FL.
I've been expirementing with FL some. And the closest I've come to getting a good fret, was when I exported a tab from Power Tab as a MIDI.
The only hang-up I had that way, was with the timing. But I think that should be fixable?
