Endgame is amazing. I listened to that probably more than the old Megadeth albums. And the Dethalbum II.

Oh yeah, forgot the Dethalbum II. I'd put it in my list (3 posts ago) somewhere in the middle. \m/especially Bloodlines\m/

I'd say this was a pretty bad metal year... I was disappointed most of the albums I heard this year. I only found 5 albums I was satisfied with... :glare:

In no partical order:
Lamb of God - Wrath
Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect
Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings
Megadeth - Endgame
Luna Mortis - The Absence

But BtBaM & DT are the top2... Dethklok can't make my list as I can't take them seriously.

(offtopic: next month Nevermore will release their new album, which I'd guess will be the best of 2010)

Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect
Mastodon - Crack the Skye

I love both of these albums more than any other on the planet. They're great in every way. Especially The Last Baron and Swim to the Moon. Brilliant songs.

I was disappointed with Atreyu's new album though. It was nothing I thought it would be. I guess it's grown on me though.

---- EDIT ----

Agree on the Dream Theater, that was a good album. <3 The Count of Tuscany. I also agree on Paramore. I absolutely loved August Burns Red's latest... but my favorite this year was undoubtedly Switchfoot's newest (Hello, Hurricane). Oh! and Them Crooked Vultures was sweet too.

In list form! (not counting things already named unless i put them in a different category)

Best:
Switchfoot - Hello, Hurricane
Flyleaf - Memento Mori
Oh, Sleeper - Son of the Morning
Showbread - The Fear Of God
Neon Horse - Haunted Horse

Meh:
Skillet - Awake (i like the album, i like the band, but it got repetitive.)
Atreyu - Congregation of the Damned (again, like the band, album was good, but not great)
Breaking Benjamin - Dear Agony (good album, but not great)

Bad: i got nothin. I think i typically stayed away from albums that i wouldn't like, so... :P

1. Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect
2. The Protomen - Act II: The Father of Death
3. Armcannon - Armcannon 2 - The Return of the Attack of the Legend of Pizzor
4. Transatlantic - The Whirlwind
5. Dream Theater - Black Clouds and Silver Linings

Ohhh! I'll do mini-reviews.

Spoiler:Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect
I don't like their other albums, but this is amazing! The songs are progressive, and the acoustic passages are amazing! Especially the one on "Fossil Genera". "Swim to the Moon" is an amazingly catchy song, with cathy as hell melodies! "Obfuscation" is awesome, and has catchy awesomeness. "Mirrors" is a great intro and the jazzy intro is coolio.

The Protomen - Act II: The Father of Death
A rock opera. Inspired by Mega Man. WAAAAAY awesomer than it sounds. The soungs are again, catchy as ****. This is one of the only bands of this style I like! The vocals are great, and the guitar on songs such as "The Hounds" are brilliant!

Armcannon - Armcannon 2 - The Return of the Attack of the Legend of Pizzor
WOW! Just, WOW! Amazing jazz fusion of video game and tv songs! The arrangements are awesome! Jazz+SMB2! Thrash+Castlevania! Progressive Metal+Contra!

Can't be arsed lol.

I wasn't really to big on it either. Listen to Episode and you'll see what they're really capable of.

Still waiting for the new atheist album hjrrhhirh

Tell me you're not joking.

Also, I didn't really find The Resistance all that good, but I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it fully, only a few tracks. What tracks stand out?

Also, I thought Deathalbum 2 was really disappointing. It just sounded like a lot of extremely similar melodeath riffs.
