Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
Yes, when I re-imported the MID, the desyncing problem was gone. Oddly enough, when I went back and edited it from the notes.eof, the desyncing problem was gone. :o

Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
So when you edited the original EOF file and saved again, the MIDI was not desynced? If this isn't an issue with the MIDI export, maybe there was some condition where the chart was partially glitched, causing it save incorrectly?
Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
I'm not sure how the chart would be glitched, since it was charted in EOF.
I don't know if this helps, but this is what I did (I think):
1. I copied all the notes in notes.eof to the clipboard.
2. I moved notes.eof and notes.eof.backup (if that's what it's called) to a different directory.
3. I imported notes.mid into EOF.
4. I deleted the contents of notes.mid, pasting the clipboard in its place.
5. I fixed the placement of the five-note chord BRE thing.
6. I saved and re-imported notes.mid, finding that the notes had NOT been desynced.
7. I moved notes.eof (without the *.backup) back to the song folder.
8. I opened another window of EOF.
9. I opened notes.eof in the new window.
10. I added SP and Solo markers (which I had deleted earlier in attempt to get around the desyncing bug).
11. I saved notes.eof.
12. In the old window (with notes.mid still open), I re-imported notes.mid, finding, to my surprise, that the notes had not been desynced.
13. Despite the notes not being desynced, I noticed that the second-last note of the chart was missing.
I did step 2 because when I tried doing everything without getting rid of notes.eof, it would still be desynced.

Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
That's a bit too bizarre for me to figure out at present. If you're able to create a very short and simple chart that produces this problem (ie. no phrases, forced HOPOs, etc), would you be able to send it to me? Having less to look at in the chart helps rule out possibilities.

doomtron wrote:I'm having problems with the way EOF saves the notes.mid. It seems like on some of my more recent charts, the notes.eof is fine, but the notes.mid is all messed up. For example, in my chart of Shake Hands With Beef by Primus, the notes.mid is missing the last few notes of the drum chart (the notes are there in the notes.eof).
I just wanted to mention that this is fixed in the current SVN revision. The issue was that the MIDI import would malfunction for notes that were placed at anchors. I broke it a while ago during some optimization, but it seems to work correctly again. As far as I can tell, the MIDI was being created correctly when the chart was being saved in EOF.

Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
My notes seem to be a whole beat off of what they are in EOF when I play the song... has this been fixed?

I'll need a test chart that exhibits this. The MIDI import and export are going to have gone through quite a lot of changes by the next stable release.

Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
So I send you the midi?
Also, I've noticed that when I make BPM changes that go from like, either 160 to 165.34, the notes go off sync ALOT, and when it's 165.43 to 330.00 to 167.84 to 162.64, the notes only slightly go off, like now...

It may be best to just wait for the next release. The MIDI import and export are going to have a lot of work done.

Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
I would hope for within 1-2 weeks. It's better to be safe and allow adequate testing than to be sorry.
Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
Gasps all around! I found another error thing!
In 1.65, when I get around the desyncing glitch by removing BPM changes that sustains go over, the last few notes disappear.

Re: EOF 1.666 (Updated 8/17/2010)
Looks like I now have 666 posts! To celebrate I'm releasing a new version of EOF, v1.666. Many thanks to raynebc for contributing the majority of the work that went into this version. As usual, the first post has been updated. You will find the links and change log there.
