Classic or "vista basic". Either one uses less resources than Aero Glass.
You also never mentioned what CPU you have and what frequency it is running at.

i also have a vista and after a couple days of playing it eventually starts to get less laggy

Sry but all those cross posters are pretty annoying, instead of just writing that you have the same problem (what's no help) observe the thread until someone comes to a solution.
So some things you could do (original thread starter -.-):
How is it going with other games? Do they lag too?
And one thing you could do to, for those who have maybe more experience then me (I'll try my best) upload the dxdiag.txt
You get it by going Start -> run (in vista just start and then into this search bar thing) type dxdiag. Save the information to a txt file and upload it somewhere or post here what's in it in text form.
