FoFix memory leak solution.

I use a little program called minimem to free up memory while you're playing. It works great.

Kenny

Hey - thanks for the find! This may be the first viable solution to the leak (that I am aware of, at least). Did you have this app setup in any special way?

Thanks,

Matt

You have to open it up and add frets on fire to the optimized programs list (Uncheck the box under the programs) i think frets has to be open when you do it.

This works pretty good, my videos dont lag..... as much, my comp still sucks lol.

Instructions:

1. Start Frets on Fire in window mode.
2. Start minimem.
3. Add frets on fire to the optimized programs list
4. Uncheck both of the checkboxes under the list.
5. Choose interval to free memory. I use 5 minutes (300 sec).
6. Done.

When i start frets on fire in windowed mode ,after i start minimen, i dont see frets on list , so i cannot put it in optimized program list:( any tips?

This has been linked in FoFiX issue 184.... nice find, this workaround will be handy until we can get things running on Python 2.5 on all platforms.
