As the person stated above.. I dl'd rf mod 4 for win32, and AVG detected a worm in it. It was downloaded from the FoFwiki page for rf mod, which links to the prison.net file. Not sure if this is a false positive or not.. but not taking chances..

edit: Went on IRC and was directed to send the file to virustotal.com their scan showed it as a virus in several, but not all scans.. and it was not shown as the same virus through all the scans.. I'm lead to assume that this is a false positive. If anyone has anything to add about it, please do.

RF-mod in itself is fine. The suspicious file is the LRC2FOF.exe that comes along with it. I would advise staying away from that file, or just go ahead and delete it (it's in /contrib/lyrics/). I'm not sure what to make of it just yet.

Good mod, but the notes changed a bit. If there were notes very close to eachother before I used this mod, I didn't have to pick them all. Now I can't play any fast songs because you simply can't follow the notes if you have to pick all of them. Is it fixed yet or is there a way that I can fix it myself?

Hello,

i'm a newcomer to Fretsonfire. I created the songs folder with 1 download song. After starting the game and choosing "play the game" my song is shown, but when I want start the song I've got the message "list index out of range" and the game freezes.
How can I fix it ?

If you get something like this-

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "GameEngine.pyo", line 346, in run
File "GameEngine.pyo", line 336, in main
File "Engine.pyo", line 139, in run
File "Engine.pyo", line 130, in _runTask
File "Input.pyo", line 190, in run
File "Input.pyo", line 141, in broadcastEvent
File "Menu.pyo", line 124, in keyPressed
IndexError: list index out of range

Then it's most likely that you either have empty folders in your fretsonfire songs folder, charactes that it doesn't like being used, or corrupted song.ini files.

To solve this problem, see here- http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/list-index-out-of-range

I've tried another song and now it works. But I have another problem with this version: When I start the "Tutorial" I've got the following message: "Couldn't read from data/songs/tutorial/guitar.ogg". It seems my "Tutorial" is lost with this version. Must I save the tutorial data from the newest version of FoF ?

Hey, I'v been trying to figure this out for like an hour... Reading the read mes and such, going over the wiki
I just can't seem to get it to work, I feel like I must have missed some thing really obvious but I don't know what it is.

Basically, I downloaded version 1.2451 of FoF, than I downloaded the zip for version 4 of the RF mod. I saved the folder to my desktop, and then double clicked the FoF play icon in there, and it just gives an error message, a black screen, and then acts kinda buggy. I feel like I need to install the RF mod, but I am unsure how to do this. I tired just moving the RF folder to my FoF program folder but still did the same.

In any case, I did the run command and got this

(W) Config key game.encoding not defined while reading.
(W) PyAmanith not found, SVG support disabled.
(D) Initializing audio.
(D) Audio configuration: (44100, -16, 1)
(D) Initializing video.
(D) Enabling high priority timer.

Please, try not to laugh too hard at my failings at this.

RF-mod is a standalone mod, meaning you just unzip and run the exe from that. There should be no need to install over any other version of Frets on Fire
