I bought some Wii drums to use with Alarian. I just plugged them and Windows (Vista) recognized them as a joystick and set them up. The only problem is that the blue drum doesn't register as a button for some reason. Everything else works, including all the buttons and bass pedal.

Do I need to download some sort of driver or program or do I just have a faulty drum?

Here is a screenshot of the joystick settings, the blue drum won't light anything up yet nothing will light up some of the higher numbers.

get Glovepie, transform your pads into keys, like QWERT and then assign these 5 buttons to each of the drum keys you'll use at fof, red pad, yellow pad, blue pad, green pad, kick pedal.

I used Xpadder for a ps3 drumset and it worked, so glovepie should work for your wii drumset
I forget. LETS ROCK!

GlovePIE doesn't help because windows won't even recognize the blue drum being hit. I can even set up FOF for the other drums and pedal without GlovePIE and it works fine, except the blue drum.

It's like I need a different driver or that drum is bad.

Man, as long as you get it to work on your wii it should be easily recognizable at your PC

And... about Xpadder

Doing rolls with xpadder makes it faster to proccess in-game

Oh, gee, if you don't have a wii, and you can't test it, how do you suppose the drum isn't actually broken?

Get any wii you have around 100km from you, test it, it's probably broken.

The normal results on the joystick screen are to react from each pad you hit.
I don't know the button order, but if you hit red, it shows a button, then blue, then green....

If not, the sensor is broken

Yeah each pad lights up a different number. The blue pad should light up the #1 light but it doesn't. Tried on a couple other PCs with XP, same thing.

Friend is coming right now with a Wii to find out for sure.

It's busted. From what i've seen and heard, that appears to be the case. RMA it.

Tried it on my friend's Wii but since he doesn't have Rock Band there was no way to tell if it was working. The drums only work in the game since they are USB and normal Wii controllers are GC or wireless.

RMA'ing it.

About to RMA but I want to have a little fun first. Does anyone know if there's a way to make Jurgen play just one of the drums?

no =/

You can only make jurgen play all the drums at once, there's no one to make it play only 'red' or only 'blue'. You'd need to code it.

Too bad your drums came faulty =/ such a pity...

If you want to have some fun with 3 pads and a pedal, just get one of those RB drum machines available around and give it a shot.
I have trouble with 4 pads but you'll have some fun with 3 :p

And... You can always play a song on practice mode so you don't fail because of the faulty blue pad.
Just don't play 'don't fear the ripper' :)

Take your keyboard, set your space bar to blue, then tape your keyboard to the drumset of the blue pad. Tape some kind of weight to your space bar so that it will be more sensitive, and maybe cushion it so you don't break it.

Viola!
