Found out why I was getting the wierd notes appearing. For some reason when I put the new cassette file in (ie the guitar model) then the notes screw up like that. Its all down to how the meshes are named which ill work out in time im sure. For now, atleast no one else will have this problem :)

i wanted to use the updated notes but not the keys. If I try to use the notes on their own with the default keys the notes go all white as seen in the screenshot before,

i noticed if u edit the scale of the notes to 1.0 or higher the colours go back to normal, as soon as u scale the notes below 1.0 u start to see white sections show up

i don't know why using the updated keys file fixes it yet but im trying to work something out, heres a screenshot showing the notes working at 1.0

I like the 1st one more.. the arrows coming out of the markers in the second one just makes it harder to hit those notes that aren't in sync.

Yeah, I dont like the second keys I made either Kruser, lol. They looked alright but to use in game theyre gash, so I use the keys from the first file and the notes from the second and they work fine for me.

Also, good to know that changing the shader works fatdog, good work that man :)

it works either way, phong or lambert as long as both files are set the same, so its just mixing them thats causing the problem

Well as Ive said elsewhere in the past, I really dont know Blender. I just use max, but the materials dont export so I have to try set them up when I import into Blender. Always solved it somehow in the past but its good to have someone else to help with these issues :)

A replace for the cassetes would be CDs. The model would be easily done, and a skin (if any are used, I'm not sure) could be based on a real pic.

Could you pleas explain the process of exporting the model? I've been trying it in different programs with different settings, naming the meshes "mesh", "mesh_001", etc..., changing materials, units... No matter what I do the game just crashes once I actually play a song.

As in the songs plays, and you can play along to it, but the screen is blank, and trying to close out freezes it for a few minutes.
