Wow, that was a good **** off. yogsothoth had posted that the stages WONT work along with the "GZ sucks". I'd perfer that you guys not diss the game i've worked my ass off on for the past months, especialy when i decide to try to help you guys out to by coming here. Now im not trying to start a fight or anything, but heres what i was going to say.

The stages AREN'T in gz format, i still have the originals, i can export them in ANY format. Guitar zero doesnt suck, niether does FoF, im going to help both sides, and im throwing in the offer. 4 Stages, complete, characters dont move yet. Take it or leave it.

The majority of FOF's graphics are 2D. Except for folders, cassettes, notes and keys which are DAE files. Everything else uses an SVG as base. SVGs can be used to do the graphics them selves. Or can be used to map PNGs to the game. So if you can convert you graphics to 2D(either in PNG or SVG) you could probably work them into FOF. PNG would be you best bet, as it allows more detail to be used.

BTW; Thanks for the effort even if this turns out to be not doable,
Rex

Just want to know, does / will FoF support a stage? I can export them to any format, and i ask for a answer better than "wont, gz sucks"

he wants to help fof.
he has some gh stages for 3d max and he is wondering if anybody can use them. MEANING if someone who knows python can edit fof to make it read 3d stages, he has them.

sadly cool, i really don't think 3d stages are on the top of the developer's list and i'm not sure if anyone here is willing to do all the programing/knows how to.

of course, he is just throwing it out there, and i can't help but agree it's worth a shot

I would like to see the reaction on a GZ forums if we just get there, bring some .png files and a stage.ini and say: if you want those, they work 100% in FoF

Anyway, FoF doesn't use 3D stages like those in GZ. Should it?

Wow a perfectly civil and useful topic closed. That was weird. (But isn't double-topic-posting against de lules? You should've just requested to have it unlocked).
Anyway

That's why you would try to port it. Just like converting .sng to .mid for FoF and stuff. We know it doesn't work, and now someone wants to try to find a way to make it work.

Go for it. Python is made for 3d (Blender, anyone?), if you have the programming skills you should see what you can do with the source code. If you don't have the programming skills, oh well.

I , for one, am extremely gratified that you're willing to help us. If we all were like you, both FoF and GZ might be better than GH already.

Go for it!

Programming is difficult... The fault is not Python, or C++, or XNA, doesn't matter, programming is always hard... look at the time RF took to implement the new functions of RF-Mod, in between versions. Now imagine inserting 3D graphics into the game's code. Even though Python does support all sorts of 3D graphics (even shaders trough pyOpenGL!), they are not easy to implement, specially in a game that already lags so much. If that was to be made, I think the game devs should do it... Also because if that is made, what other stuff could the devs implement? NOTHING! That would stop FOF in time, literally, with no support from the original devs.

EDIT: By the way, cool, hope that GZ2 goes ahead with callisto's project... Hell, i'm rooting for it!

Well, since it's not really a simple thing, ill take a good look at the source before i jump in, afterall, i still havent even played FoF.

Callisto's project is definantly going to be a success, the beta is frickin awesome and i already threw in my gh2 sound rips just to make it feel better. Its going to be great, i can tell you guys that.

Without allot of difficult coding, i doubt these can be used in fof. Even if they could be, I'd imagine it would cripple my machine. Fof seems to have higher requirements than gz, and to get gz running smoothly on my pc, i have to use the blank background.

It is cool of you to offer the models though.

Ha, I read what yogosloth said,
cool, they won't work. Guitar Zero sucks.

Edit: Close this before it turns into an arguement/flamewar involving "NO! LOLZZZ GUITER ZERO OwNZ FOF11!!one!!!" and things of the sort.

Close this before it turns into an arguement/flamewar? Saying GZ sucks is a great way to start a flamewar. Whats even funnier is, some jackass actually obeyed him and closed it, instead of warning him for trying to start a flamewar. Way to step up, mr modderator.

It was a private beta, only i recieved this one.

As callisto said, only the biggest contributers around get to try it, so its not really a free thing, but im sure it wont be much longer.
