I just got my degree in Computer Games Design and am about to start a Masters in Computer Games Arts, and as such would love to be part of making this thing look schmexy!
I do all of my modelling in 3dsmax 8 (sp3) but am currently unable to get the Collada plugins to work and therefore can't even begin to try modifying things like the buttons. If anyone else out there is a modeller and has got them to work please let me know. Cheers

Right, Ive gone down a different route. I saw that they originally used Blender, so I downloaded that, found I needed to install Python to get the Collada plugins to work there.
I have been able to open .dae files in Blender, export them to .3ds and should hopefully be able to send the file back after modifications.
The current problem is that I do not see anything when I open key.dae which is the one I am currently most interested in trying to modify.

Oh the joy -_- of trying to get your meshes into an engine of any kind. I've spent all of a minute and knocked up this to replace the note indicator (simply to test it out before I actually make anything that looks nice).
Had many problems with importing and exporting, and up to now the game would crash as soon as the first note had to appear on screen. At present the game plays but there is no note indicator at all, just the lines to show note length.
Never fear, I shall endeavour to get this working, then I can try design something interesting for it.
